Hey guys, I'm doing a review of the Deathstrike missile platform, and I was wondering what you think about it.

Edit: here's the link to my review: http://www.examiner.com/miniature-wargames-in-national/warhammer-40k-spotlight-ig-deathstrike-missile-launcher

Wait, if you're doing the review then why are we the ones providing feedback? Are you trying to get us to do your job for you?

And how about a selection for 'friendly and/or Apoc games only'?

Feasting on the souls of unworthy opponents

It's awesome because it's a deathstrike missile.

In terms of points allocation in a normal game, it sucks.

So I would say that it is awesome suckage?

I love it, it's a nuke.

Taking three and having all of them launch on the first turn makes for some funny moments.

It's total suckage. Manticore beats it 100-0, and leaves more points for 2x2 hydras. DSM is too unreliable for competitive play imo

Manticore costs the same # of points, and comes in the same kit. Outside of an apoc game. I don't ever see a deathstrike doing more damage than a manticore.

Chaos isn’t a pit. Chaos is a ladder. Many who try to climb it fail, and never get to try again. The fall breaks them. And some are given a chance to climb, but refuse. They cling to the realm, or love, or the gods…illusions. Only the ladder is real. The climb is all there is, but they’ll never know this. Not until it’s too late.

I would have gone for 'awesome and suckage.'

I've used it a few times. Usually it kills just about as many guys with its heavy flamer as with the missile....

However, there's 2 times it's stood out for me.

1) Nuking 4 out of 6 Wolf Guard terminators.
2) A planetstrike game, where it managed to take out 7 devastators, 2 land speeders and messed with a bastion.

Only the second time really came close to 'getting its points back' and that was a 3000 point game.

Also, a major error in your review... It doesn't auto hit. "Once its final position has been determined." means you still need to determine its final position first.

in apoc it can be a vortex missle.it +1 to launch chart, uses 10" marker killing everything instantly but GC and SHVs,no rules no saves, not EW,not storm shiel, not WWB nothing.then shrinks to small marker which scatters 2d6 random direction, unless you roll a doublwe in which case it disappears.+1000000

normal ones-total suckage.

Outside of a 100% fluffy/fun army, they're not worth using. They provide a lot of tension in a game due to their random nature, but there are far more reliable weapons in the Guard arsenal.
