Somewhere in the Warp, with a psychotic dreadnaught and an overzealous sorcerer to deal with...
This is possibly an age old question by now, but how do the noise marine weapons, the Sonic Blaster and the Blast Master, work? How are they reloaded? Do they even use ammo? What type of weapon is it comparable to?
"We are the Knights Temporal, scum, we have cleansed entire worlds of your filthy cults and liberated many minds from their sway towards the Endarkened Powers..."
"Oh? Ever seen a dreadnaught rip a Trygon's head off? Ever seen a chaplain scream someone to death? Ever seen as many Raptors baying for Imperialist blood? We are the Spirits of Cyron, and the only pleas for death will be your own!"
Since they use sound, I guess they use electricity as ammunition? Would say they are closest comparable to the Eldar Sonic Lance and Vibrocannon...

They use possibly use energy batterys to charge their weapons, the weapons could be compared to the Sonic weaponry from Star wars which melts the organs of the target.

Quick question, are there any actual Noise Marine Terminators? As in ones who utilise the above weaponry?

Not any more. In the 3.5 codex any model with the Mark of Slannesh could exchange bolters for sonic blasters for 5 points or combi bolters for sonic blasters for 2 points. They could also trade autocannons or missile launchers for blastmasters for free.
Since Chaos termi armor comes with combi-bolters for two points you could get your sonic blasters on them. You could also get a Blastmaster on the termies by exchanging the autocannon upgrade. I personally used them on chaos bikers... 24" heavy 3 bolters on a 12" move and shoot platform, yes please.
But we can't do that anymore in the 4th ed codex. Totally invalidated so many awesome conversions.

Theyre basically just giant speakers tuned to a certain frequency and fit into one gunif im correct.
They are most likely not reloaded, seeing as theyre connected to the giant battery on their backs.
"Whoever said the pen is mightier than the sword obviously never encountered automatic weapons."
Most likely they run on electrical power. They don't have exhaust vents, fuel cylinders, or magazine/clips modeled on the guns. Weither or not its internal power that can be recharged or if they borrow some power from the reactor in the marines back pack I couldn't say.
Awesome weapons though. Modulating sound waves to cause resonance distortion in their targets. Sounds like a painful way to die. Perfectly Slannesh.

They're either powered by the Marine's power armour power source (as that seems to be where the cables go on the model) or are just warp-powered or something.

Waaagh! Gorskar = 2050pts
Iron Warriors VII Company = 1850pts
Fjälnir Ironfist's Great Company = 1800pts
Guflag's Mercenary Ogres = 2000pts
The original Noise Marine weapons were unique musical instruments created to perform some crazy opera for the Emperor's Children. Of course, the music summoned a bunch of daemons who killed the orchestra, so some of the crazier EC took up the instruments and discovered their potential for destruction.
I seem to remember that in fulgrim (the book) the first sonic weapons were some sort of instruments (like a trumper or a tuba) because they were in the middle of a big show, so that would suggest they are simply powerd by slaanesh-y warp juice

IIRC, the weapons amplify the Noise Marine's actual vocal cords.
yeah, the marines are actually screaming at you

Look closely at an old punk rocker noise marine model, before they were "sonic" weapons there was a bolter built into the guitar.
But yeah, "sonic" weapons are presumably electrically powered

The Israeli Defense Force has what they consider a sonic weapon that works by directing the lethal sound and pressure wave of a gasoline explosion. At long range its debilatating short range its enough to kill. There isn't any reason noise marines couldn't use a non electric means.

That is an interesting concept, but there is an absence of any fuel containers on a Noise Marine, plus I don't think that, while psychotically sadistic, a Noise Marine would feel safe with a cell of explosive fuel in a warzone where superheated projectiles are the norm.

They aren't "powered" by anything mundane. They are musical instruments capable of generating incredibly destructive frequencies. At most, there is a bit of warp energy channeled through them.
Here's a joke. They use the power of dubstep to blast it so loud it hurts
"Listen closely Brothers, for my life's breath is all but spent. There shall come a time far from now when our Chapter itself is dying, even as I am now dying, and our foes shall gather to destroy us. Then my children, I shall listen for your call in whatever realm of death holds me, and come I shall, no matter what the laws of life and death forbid. At the end I will be there. For the final battle. For the Wolftime."-Last words of Leman Russ the Primarch of the Space Wolves Chapter of Space Marines.

I was not trying to say that was how they do it, so much as to say we should open ourselves up to an idea other than an electrical source. Could it be a small contained plasma burst to generate the sonic wave? Or maybe its a purely daemonic energy source of some sort... or maybe a micro fissure into the warp...? The point is an electrical means is the most mundane and there are other possibilities.
Also both flamers and plasma weapons have explosive fuel cells, so there is no shortage of relatively unsafe weapons.
