Article is here.

1.) If it was up to me, he would have gotten the death penalty. No, seriously.

The Judge's Defense Team wrote:"The media attention to this matter has exceeded coverage given to many and almost all capital murders, and despite protestation, he will forever be unjustly branded as the 'Kids for Cash' judge

2.) "Unjustly" - you keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.

Their comments (the defense team and the judge) reminds me of the Chappelle show episode where they treat a drug dealer as if he were a white collar criminal, and vice versa.

Found a link to it.

Probably work

Wait... girl got sent to a 'wilderness camp' for... for... building a MySpace page making fun of the assistant principal?

I... must have gotten off the highway on the exit for bizarro world this morning by accident.

Yea no joke, that is WAY over the top for a sentence. Probation maybe? But damn. I hope that judge gets a pretty harsh sentence himself, let the bastard sit in prison a few years so he can think about where he went wrong with his life/morals

'Unjustly branded', strewth what can you throw at this guy that is too much?

Wrongly locking young people up can ruin lives, think what it does to people and their education and employment. I hope some can take up their case for some sort of compensation. By allowing a crooked judge to screw people on sentencing the state has failed people.

Sorry, I always feel I should give a nod of recognition when someone uses a quote from the Princess Bride.

Uh...it kindda is depending on how severe the mocking was. Youd have to ask someone that is Law savvy as I am not. But even still.... her myspace page or whatever it was she made, would have to be fething terribad to be what she got.

I would think Freedom of Speech would cover just about everything up to slander and libel, both of which are civil matters not criminal.

I was suspended from school for allegedly slandering my principal. That's it. No charges, no judge, nothing. 3 days of sitting at home playing Lunar Silver Star Story.

Yea see, when I was in school if you said something REALLY bad about another, it was inschool suspension. So really a slap on the wrist. But yea, my nephew was nearly suspended for having fake blood on his mouth during his Halloween party at school. So obviously things have changed since I was a school kid

you could call your vice principle every word you cant say on sesame street, and that would be fine and legal.

dos't mean you won't be suspended though.

I understand all that. Which is why I'm wondering how this girl ended up in front of a judge in the first place, especially a criminal judge.

People are sue happy these days? But yea, even stretching my imagination its hard to come up with a reason for that. Maybe she was in that school, where those girls made up a myspace page about that other girl and teased her so badly that she committed suicide? Ionno

Wrongly locking up children, preventing them from getting their education and instead forcing them to get a PRISON EDUCATION, because you're a fat greedy bastard is a very heinous crime.

Zero tolerance policies are stupid. No exceptions.
