I'm a little curious to know as to whether or not any GW stores were looted during the recent riots in England. I haven't heard anything about it but maybe one or two of you could tell me. Thank you in advance!

Not here in Manchester, as far as I know. The store is quite far inside the Arndale Centre.

Don't give disgruntled ex-GW players any ideas. They may unleash a Waaagh upon the store.

Come on lets face it, those that are looting these places are likely to be the kind of people who bullied people who indulged in the hobby in school for liking 'nerdy gay toy soldiers' (or whatever the typical description is around your parts), when we could have been spending our pocket money on drink and fags.

It's a typical theme around my neck of the woods, there isn't much to do except hang around smoking/drinking underage and causing disturbance. Anyone who shows any signs of intelligence/anything slightly unusual tends to get ostracized.

Saying that, they probably would loot the metal blisters, I mean they could fill a sock with all that pewter and crack a few skulls...

A Forbidden Planet was looted in London so maybe some people were after science fiction stuff.

I know it seemed like a stupid thing to ask because of the characteristics of the troglodytic cunnigits. My main motivation for asking was because I was curious to know if it had happened. Obviously these buggernauts aren't the type to loot GW but as Mr. Treesong put it Forbidden Planet was rogered so maybe on the off-chance something did happen.

@htj - Haha, I heard about that incident. I was in Thame at the time.

On a simelar subject there is a photo going around the publishing industry at the moment of a bookshop. I'm not sure where , but i think its in london from memory. Both shops either side have had all there windows smashed and been looted and the bookshop is totaly fine.

I been unnerved about the riots, hope none of you gets killed, maybe that's why Darko fled. Bit worried about SoK through, she hasn't posted in a week after an alleged 'disturbance on her flat'

Even if it was in fashion to play wargames GW would be the last place they looked. I know I'm probably overestimating their intelligence but surely even they know that jewelry, iphones and dslr's are more expensive than your average blister pack.
