Hi, I couldn't see a topic for this

There's now a Skaven section on the Warhammer Forge website: http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/Warhammer/Skaven

Two monsters for sale already:

Brood Horror - £32

Exalted Vermin Lord - £45

I like the fact that in the experimental rules their treated as coming from a summoning scroll from the Storm of Magic expansion. They both look gorgeous, the Brood Horror will hopefully soon get a character available to ride it, while the Vermin Lord is absoloutly amazing, I'm not even a Skaven player and I plan to get one

Just a "regular" Vermin Lord then? I remember it being dubbed an "Exalted Vermin Lord" and wasn't sure if that was something separate from the one in the Army Book. It's certainly on a different base; looks like a monster base instead of the usual 50mmx50mm base.

It is, in fact, an "Exalted Vermin Lord".

Vermin Lord is on a chariot base. He is closer to greater daemon size than the current Vermin Lord.

Feel sorry for the Empire citizen who always being chased by the newest monster to be released, surprised nothings caught him yet . And yeah, the new Exalted Vermin Lord does look good.

I'm surprised at the price of the brood horror- that's really not that bad.

Unfortunately, I don't like the model... the sneak pics of the mounted version (which we saw right after GamesDay, too) look promising, though.

Too bad that none of GW big rats seem to have any fur.

Yes, that is a little... odd.

I wish they'd given them the DE Clawed Fiend treatment:

Fur would really help them look like rats, I think.

They have no specific allegiance and can use both Lore of Ruin and Lore of Plague, plus only Grey Seers can summon them (in the fluff that is, you don't need a Grey Seer on the battlefield)

Maybe because it's a model that got rejeceted years ago and now got a slight makeover.

The Lord isn't bad, but looks strangely like an upscaled grey seer, for a 54mm game, and not a giant demon rat on 'roids.

No, they're not. Like their Chaos Greater Daemon Brethren, they're the avatar of their god, not beholden to any one specific faction that worships the Horned Rat.

Also, Grey Seers are required to summon one, and the majority of the Grey Seer order holds Pestilens in contempt as heretics(they believe the Plague Priests follow a corrupted and incorrect version of the "true" faith).

Skaven are one of the armies I'm not too familiar with, so that's good to know.

Perhaps to do with Storm of Magic as there are several Exalted (ie harder) versions of the Greater Daemons in there

Also amusingly you can randomly generate a Vermin Lord with one of the Skaven Catascysm spells if you roll a 13 IIRC

Looking forward to a whole raft of monsters to add to those in the Storm of Magic rulebook (it mentions there wil be more to come in the rulebook)

Negative sir, I was at Gamesday and saw my dark overlord in the flesh. It is a chariot base, though if you want to put him on a chariot with 2 HPA's pulling it on a 100x150... you have that choice, he just still counts as a vermin lord or whatever your game agrees to.

Wouldn't Brood Horrors be better for pulling the chariot than HPA's?

Sorry not sure what you mean?

The Skaven Spell (whose name escapes me) can spontaineously summon a Vermon Lord

I also thought there mnight be a whole new datasheet for the "Exalted" version of the Vermin Lord in the same way as the other Greater Deamons.
