OH my gork! the orks dreads ere really good i was also thinking 'bout using that warbike as a face but the jaw was awesome

Ive already posted this dread in the gallery last week but its my favourite at the moment cause its the newest thing ive done but expect more converted templar stuff to come, especially more dreads.

P.S legs may look skinny but they really do look better in person...it works.

Thanks on your comment Dark Voidof 40k and yes i will be using it in local club games once the army is up and running, ile just have to ignore the duel assualt cannons though otherwise he'd dominate to much.

Nice clean paintjob. Could use a little weathering, especially on the feet.

Well seeing as so full of win, I will have to pull it back down to earth with my "meh" WIP rifleman. ^_^ Entirely made from "bitz" bought from the Warstore's bitz section.

Like most of my model's, its less than half painted. It was also my first attempt at using putty to do joins....the result was more than a little rough. Still, painting chitin is alot of fun and I think the gun pod arm is pretty damn cool looking even if the overall model is a bit childish. Well aware its not the best model in the world. Not sure what it is, but its dreadnought scale.

Its also big and weird enough that it attracts ALOT of attention on a game board.

you should definitely put that awesome beast in a genestealer cult. i'm thinking maybe chaos, and use it as a defiler, as chaos is probably easy to do with 'nids. yeah, chaos genestealer cult... +

alleys are scary

calibanite lion like the dread very neet, i agree with wolf shadow however on the weathering it of rust or chipping here and there and a lite dirt smear over the fee and its perfect.

I have bought a new batch of weathering powders but for some reason i am really reluctant to weather everything up, ill see how it goes lol

Actually due to a minor accident I just replaced the middle spike on the chaplain dreadnought. It's now straight and very sharp.

@ Winterdyne: I esp like the tiny freehand on the chaplain shoulder pod.

Sad thing I have a few times. I used the Army Painter Dragon Red and it is really bright. I washed it down to this point with the GW washes. On another one I am working on I actually used the Reaper Ink and after just one application it is WAY darker. Almost too dark.

Start your washes early to get shadow with depth. I usually do a layer of wash, then 2 layers of paint, then a layer of wash, etc.

so you used red washes i gather? hmmm i think i would go for badabblack and after it is dried i would like agroszkiewicz suggested go over the raised parts/areas with a further paintcoat or two... after that you got yourself a very detailed dread to go and smash ´em...
