Buy a big bottle of windex for general cleaning, and some regular airbrush cleaner (Spectra-tex available at Michael's) for end-of-day cleanings. Learn to field strip and reassemble the airbrush like a rifle, but with regular cleanings, you won't have to much. Lube is important, brand doesn't matter, it's usually a blue goo, I use Iwata Super-Lube because that is what my local hobby shop stocks. For thinning, Testor's Universal Thinner is the most available, you can use water or windex too in a pinch . Don't believe what people on the internet say about the blue coloring in Windex, it isn't pigment, and they are just scared of their tool, they don't understand it, so they believe in hokum.

Not getting much chance to work on stuff today. Watching little house on the prairie with the family, it's so mu h fun to torture the kids, they lost tv choices for the day while at the store buying furniture.
HA! cruel parents crossing the street
the more i see of this truck i get warmer with that build... BUT... i think you need double axis on the front... and maybe an axis so that you could have the backside of the truck better get around curves?...and what was your impression about the sentinel legs as stabilizers... did they look too big? i know i am the devils advocate again but someone needs to point out these things... i bet you could scratchbuild them in the right scale (assuming they are indeed too big )
cheers, vik...and no...i am no doc... only of that sort you would need for torturing peeps with boring lectures

I thought about a double axel up front, but no more spare wheels, could lays steal them from the sprues of unassembled bikes. The hard part would be another axel. I could always scratch build one, but I'll see how this looks without first.
My supply drop failed. The hose I bought at hobby lobby had the wrong fittings on the end. I have a few hours so I'm headed to harbor freight and a different hobby lobby. I did get the thinner and some game color paints there though. Also picked up winded at the store while getting groceries.

You can get reducers for that hose, the Iwata needs 1/4" at the airbrush end. Paasche, Iwata, and Grex all use the same hose I believe.

Multiple great googlimoogli supply drops.
Not the best but one of my favs
General tsao, honey chicken, hot braised chicken, pork on a stick, crab Rangoon, and white rice. Plate one.
Didn't bother with the other plates. People around me looked at me funny when I took the picture. Didn't want to explain that it was to show guys across the country what i Ate on a miniature forum dedicated to little plastic men where I am part of a league of extraordinary riveters. it makes it sound so bad when I type it out
Speaking if rivets...
Got to do some 1:1 scale riveting to replace the broken rivets on this 70+ year old mail slot. Didn't have a real rivet gun so....
Supply drops, yes multiple.
Harbor freight, about $30.00. Includes rivet gun, carpenter square, hose, airbrush cleaner brushes and helping hand (2.99).
Here's it with the other stuff from today.
Paint thinner, windex, and three paints. Also got another hose, but it was the wrong size and $20.00 more than the harbor freight hose, so it goes back.
Also in the picture.....judge dredd movie from redbox. Haven't seen it yet, and had a coupon for $0.50 off, so I'll watch/listen to it today and tomorrow.
People coming to take old couches in the morning an new furniture to come tomorrow also. That with kids gymnastics means very little Tim to do stuff. 1:30pm here and finally hitting he shower. Too much info there

Going to have to hit harbor freight again when my birthday pops around. Saw a nice tool cart that the compressor and airbrush stuff can go on and I can roll it into and out of the basement. Storage boxes were okay, maybe I can find some of the tilt bin storage boxes when I have more time. Didn't even look at the power tools as I was trying to conserve money and time. Never went into their stores because I heard quality was crap, but I'm looking at small tools that get little wear, so not too worried. They also had a real cheap airbrush set $150.00, but you got six airbrushes, holders, hoses, and a spray out bucket. I might look at it more as I'm still not even a noobie.

Harbor Freight is fine for TWO THINGS:
1) Small tools, but never buy socket wrenches from them.
2) Medium tools you intend to use ONCE.
Don't buy anything more than $50 from them.

Nice haul! Harbor Freight is ok for certain things, like Brian said, big mission-critical power tools are a no-no. And no socket wrenches etc.

and the suply drop looks very promising, i own that third hand too... and what do you intend to rivet with that rivetgun?
and is that judge dredd or is it the new one dredd? the later i didn´t really enjoy that much...even though the critics say it stayed more to the original....for me sly will always stay dredd

I call HERESY on Vik & Dave... While Sly's Dredd had a great comic book look to the costumes (especially the ABC Warrior) and backgrounds (I have a movie book on this and it's full of great images that could translate onto the Necromunda table), he committed two ultimate sins - first he slurred his way through the lines - I AM THE LAW was the most awful part as he made no comprehensible sense... Second, and this is the cardinal sin that he can never be forgiven for, he revealed the face of Joe Dredd. I will admit though, that I kinda enjoy the movie for it's cheesiness - similar to the way I love Flash Gordon... IMHO the new Dredd is far superior... Urban is a great Dredd, plus no face reveal...

Vik, rivet gun for the mailbox one of the original rivets had broken after 70 years. We blessed the creator and gave it a good burial.
Kind of apprehensive about the movie now, but must have some good parts for $.75

Vik it's only a rental. Don't know I they have "redbox" in the eu. It's a freestanding movie dispenser, you just need a credit/debit card, and you rent the movies for$1.25 a night, o $1.00 if you reserve it online. If you sign up fo junk mail they send you coupons each week either fo one night free rental or $.50 off. They have locations at every McDonald's and Walmart, plus hundreds of other spots. You rent them from any machine and return them at any machine. We rented som before vacation last year, popped them in the car DVD player for the kids, stopped at a McDonald's along the path, dropped off that movie and got another. Really cuts down on the "are we there yets".
Kids gymnastics was called off tonight, well changed to a time after their bedtimes for some stupid reason, but that might give me some auto working time. Dinners been in the crock pot all day and the house smells of hickory BBQ sauce.
I'll write my movie review in the morning. Might even get to watch it twice while waiting for the furniture to arrive and depart.

Dredd Is a really Good action movie. Its also a REally good Dredd story (since there is no earth shattering stuff happening, just a violent drug gang....)
The best part of the movie is the music, and how it complements the action.

I'm down or a good action movie with no plot, or one big enough to drive a bus through. A bus that has to go a a certain speed or it will blow up. A bus that keeps running into problems that slow its speed down, but they are able to maintain speed so it doesn't blow up. I think it's called the bus that shouldn't slow down.

Being a major Dredd fan, I went into the movie expecting only to be disappointed. But Karl Urban (swoon) really 'got' Dredd.
It is not epic. It is not earth-shattering. The world is not going to end, per-se. Mega-City-One is not going to go up in nuclear fire.
It is one full comic-book-length Judge Dredd story, and they NAILED IT.

yup shaso, the movie lawgivers had a much 40k vibe going on....
what i didn`t like/ understood/ surprised me...was the amount of freaking sunshine you got in the new movie...???? sunshine? and so many open spaces when filming outside... the old one always had that narrow space feel...even in the fast car/bike chase scenes....
