Looking amazing everyone.

Didn't quite get my squad done, most involved Greenstuff work I've done, and RL got hectic, but here they are.

Well done everyone who managed to finish! Looking forward to voting.

... Unfortunately somewhere between the WIP and today, a light fingered individual pinched Yarrick during a weekend tourney at WHW.
I'd like to think I just misplaced him and he'll turn up, because it feels less crappy. But I secured him in his own tiny box, so reality is more likely that he's in a thieve's pocket.

He'll rise again!

Damn, that sucks and I hope he does turn up! He looks an awesome mini and would suck to find him in someone's pocket!
I'm holding out hope. Nobody found him at the venue, but some of the regulars have a photo of him, so they can keep an eye out.
I also need to speak to the hotel where I stayed on the off chance he just didn't check out.

Apologies for the lack of a a vote thread, been fighting a migraine all afternoon and I'd only have messed it up if I'd tried while that was still hanging around. I'll call things to a close now and get the vote up tomorrow.

No worries Para, get some rest and hope you feel better soon. Let us know if you need any help if it doesn't clear up.

Aww that sucks BC, I hope it is a case of it being misplaced, I wouldn't have believed that someone from the WH community would steal a model from another player, that's sacrilege.

If you do have any pics that will make it easy to identify yours against all the other models out there post them out and we will do a Dakka crime watch to try and find it.

I'm waiting on a lost and found call back from the hotel. Fingers crossed that tiny commissar just fancied an extended R&R after the tourney.

I have had Mordians stolen from my figure trays before. People seem to think they're rare.
It makes me frustrated more than sad, because they're not rare, and I have to paint some up again.

Well it's not the venue's fault. But there's also probably more non gamer footfall there than any other gaming hall in the country.
Kids, teenagers, etc. Just takes a minute and a curious child who doesn't know. I now always put my guys in my case during lunch break.

Usually gaming folk are very honest. I've left stuff before and it's always been handed in.

Yarrick is safe.
I don't want to go into it in public, but he was found and I went over to Nottingham to collect. He's scuffed and still unfinished, but he's back in the fold.

A good friend made Yarrick's banner for me out of vinyl, so it's a big relief to get him back.

Such good news. Couple that with after I read this I started bidding on a UK Yarrick to replace it for you as a surprise, and woke to find out you'd found him AND I'd been outbid!

Great to hear this. When I first read you lost him I was thinking perhaps he had landed somewhere under the tables or something. I've been to a few of the events at WHW and I always leave my army out over lunch with no issues. The WHW staff are really good at watching over things. I was there with my brother and over lunch we'd been talking about the paint job on his nurgle orks. I went halfway through lunch to take a look at it and I noticed out of the corner of my eye one staff member watching me like a hawk. there's not many places I'd feel confident leaving my best painted models out but that is one of them. Perhaps I'm just safe as none of my models are worth pinching =)

off-topic maybe, but, nurgle orks you say? are there any pics floating around of them? I've always liked the sound of that idea, but never quite had the guts to attempt it myself, closest I got was a couple of squads of plague marine conversions that I threw a couple of ork arms into

Because I play metal and infantry heavy guard, I unload from case trays and remove my guys back into them, so I can keep them in squads easily. At lunch I then just drop the trays in my case and lock it. I play around 30-90 original Tanith infantry, which whilst not the most expensive pieces, are simply not replaceable.

Yarrick doesn't fit in the case and was in a small cardboard box marked Petersen Games: Cthulhu Wars HP Lovecraft Player Marker.
Someone who was just there observing took a shine to the box after the tourney ended, thinking they were getting a rare Lovecraft miniature. One of their club mates saw my query and returned the box to me under a sort of amnesty.

That's terrible, it'll make me think twice now. So glad he got returned though.

Aye, off topic but never mind =). My brother collects CSM and I orks. He knows I've been angling to play a huge horde army for a while and in the last year I've painted up about 180 orks (including 90 boyz). We did a list for the I am Alpharius event at WHW in April (which was great) and it had 4 x 30 slugga boyz. He said he'd help me out getting the things ready, I just needed another 30 boyz to field it. He converted up 29 nurgle boyz, a nurgle nob (converted plaguebearer) a pain boy (banner bearer) and a nurgle deffkopta (using plaguedrone bits). I love them they really are very cool. Also, I got to play the army of my dreams. 120 boyz with FnP + support elements. Charging across the field. Most armies we faced had great fun as we used a dustpan and brush to remove our casualties. Anyway, that really has derailed the thread. The only images I have are posted below.

Our army (186 models)

You can see the back of the nurgle deffkopta from here and some nurgle boyz

cropped down best view I can get.. sorry.. I'll take some proper ones when I next see him.

*snip*

hey they look great! works about as well as I thought it would ...some people would call that "un-orky", but I like 'em! ...love the army too, sounds like how I've run mine a few times, great fun, proper orky too - I'll have to remember that dustpan and brush trick for future games too, sounds handy!
