What is your most successful 40k incident ever? One time I had only 6 hormagaunts and they ended up taking out a kitted out squad of assault termies in close combat. I don't think my dice were cocked because my opponent Jeremy got bad rolls on his own, I even gave him my dice to try but it was a fail. Hahaha and I was playing against about x2.5 my points value. I was on the near edge of winning but nothing beats the Imperium of Mankind! For the Emporer!

GK vs GK, i was losing - badly! - and had just 2 models left, a vindicare who was hiding from a unit of terminators and a lone psycannon / sword terminator.

A fully healthy Dreadknight charged the lone GKT, on the last turn and last phase of the game, when we were drawing on Kill points - this would get him the win, most likely

Resolved his attacks - 1 wound, which i passed on a 4+. I roll my 2A, hitting once - on a 6. Wounded, on a 6. He failed is invulnerable save - and i passed the Ld8 check to activate the NFW, killing the model. Got me second overall

I had one lone sergeant manage to charge a full strength unit of Necrons, defeat them in close combat, rout them, destroy them in a sweeping advance, thus meeting the phase out requirement and winning the game for me in the last phase of the last turn of the game.

I had a opponent hide his whole army against my entirely infiltrating army.

I went first and tabled him in literally 5 minutes. Well...he still had a drop pod in reserve and I asked him if he wanted to bring it in and he declined. Fastest game ever.

A few notable events.

A squad of carapace vets taking a charge from a squad of Possessed CSM's, and beating them, killing them off.

An Avatar putzing it's Death or Glory roll against one of my Chimeras (lol rolling a 3 on 2d6) and getting crushed beneath its tracks.

Tabling a Space Marine army turn 1. By a combination of truly excellent dice rolling on my part, horrific dice luck on my opponents part, and my opponents mistake of deploying everything as though he were going 1st or sure of seizing the initiative when i had won the roll to go first, I managed to pop every tank turn 1, then blast each infantry unit with battlecannons as it was forced to disembark (he didn't bother to deploy them behind the hulks but rather in tight clumps on the sides in full view of LRBT's) or force enough casualties to warrant leadership tests, I wiped or broke every unit on the first turn and each unit that broke managed to just hit the board edge when running away.

Back in the day i was using my Death Guard cult army in in a Tournament and i had just come off a particularly brutal loss against a double Monolith Necron army (Necrons were still fairly new at the time). My next game was against an infantry gunline IG army and half my army got smoked in the first turn so I'm thinking this at least cant get worse right?

Well basically Pappa Nurgle took pity on me and my Chaos Lord made at least 10 5+ Invuls to make it to his line and given that he had the old Manreaper and i was finishing off the squads in my opponents turn he just kept rolling down his line. My opponent couldn't stop him and he was such a bastard that the remnants of my army were able to recover and take some objectives and turn the game around from a certain defeat to a solid victory!

Very epic and enjoyable game on both sides.

Back in the day of 4th Ed rules. All I can say is 3 Whirlwinds, 18 dice rolls during the game, 16 direct hits with 2 scattering no more than 4", lots of mushed up Tau and Kroot troops. One very happy Marine Player

Hahaha deep striking Storm Troopers all the way in the corner behind this guys forces in a tournament. they didnt scatter and then proceded to take out a Fire Prism in the back armor. I got the riskiest move award at the tournament. Seriously total luck hahaha.

first game i ever played and a lone CSM with a missile launcher (rest of his unit had been slaughtered) charged and CC'd an eldar jetbike. 6 to hit. 6 to wound. he failed his 3 or 4+ save.

the CSM got killed by a few pissed off eldar (they were slaughtering us so were happy to waste a few shots on a single model) then came back as the chaos dreadnought i bought the next week.

My opponenet charged his Dreadnought at my Old One Eye.......nothing else to realy say now.

Yep - Rapidstrike, only a 1 day but about 40ish people. My highest result ever, and entirely through not having to play DE that day (all foot GK army doesnt do well against the pointy ones....)

If the necron player didnt have another turn (as in, their turn) after yours, then they dont phase out - you only check for phase out on the necron players turn...

Back in 3rd, in a 3 way battle against IG and Chaos (Khorne, deamon heavy army), i had a killa kan on the chaos side of the table. first turn: big shoota takes out one of 5 khorne hounds. IG player shoots it with a Lascannon, and the gun goes away. Chaos player winds up getting his Greater deamon in that turn, right behind the hounds, and the hounds assault my kan. nothing major happens in that combat (alot of misses, and 2 "may not move or shoot next turn") my turn, the big shoota in the boyz mob wounds the Bloodthirster, and the kan kills another hound. the bloodthirster joins combat with the kan, and at the end of my last turn, there are 5 deamon corpses at the Kans feet. the grot pilot died 2 days later, crushed to death inside his now much to tiny box.

More recently, i have twice wiped a squad of the table in a single round of shooting with my kans. first time was Creed and his command squad, with 4 direct hits, a 1inch deviation, and a deviation into a different squad. the second time was a tactical squad, with 3 direct hits and a 1 inch deviation. in Creeds case, each model died by 1 failed save. they passed all but the one that killed them.

PLaying IG vs Grey Knights, I had almost no models remaining, one of the last was a LRBT which my opponent rushed his grey knight termis into. They made it explode and it took four of them with it. I was very happy. Also wiping an entire CSM army ina 3v3 match on first turn with poisoned genestealer spam.

I love the Genestealer poison spam. I wiped out half an entire army with only 7 in a 2000 point match.

Onetime I shot a lasscannon and blew up a dark eldar transport, scattered 6" killed an entire squad and part of another, they failed the leadership, fell off the board, so that means I killed off 3 units in one shot!!!

Ha ha ha. Those pesky Dark Eldar! They always destroy me in battle, because i'm Tau. Also on some fluff in their codex that I own I read that they wiped out half of the Tau Race. They tricked the Tau and sent Wraks to knaw their planet apart. It's quite a good story.

My regular guardsmen once held Ghazkull Thraka in CC for 3 turns. Then my sergeant took off his last wound with a laspistol. The look on the face of my opponent is priceless after that field execution.

5 Guardians shot, then charged, a Carnifex. Then they danced on its corpse.

Necron lord and his squad of warriors decide to warp out of the way of most of my army and try their luck against a lone guardian squad (down to about 8 models). Their shooting proceeds to kill one guardian, following turn the guardians shoot killing about 3 then proceed to charge, led by the enhance warlock of course. At the end of combat there was only a lord and two warriors left, they succeeded in breaking off of combat and were chased all the way across the board and off of it by the same guardian squad.

The same guardian squad then marched across the board past the monolith, losing another 2 members, to tie the wraiths in combat for the turn it took the Avatar to get there. After that Eldrad zooms up in a wave serpent to drop off some dire avengers, the guardians jump into the transport with him and the following turn make it safely to some random objective near my deployment zone.

The time when me, and my friends killed an Eldar Reaver Titan. Yarrick rushed out with a vortex grenade, and it blew up.

Luck! I wish I was there to see that happen!

It wasn't really a single moment, but rather the course of an entire game. During a single game against Orks, my Wolf Court (Four tricked-out Wolf Lords on Thunderwolves) ate through two bike squads, Wazdakka, two boyz squads, and two squads of Deffkoptas. All while taking fire from Lootaz whenever I wasn't in assault. And despite everything, they made just about every single save they had to take, leaving a very battered and beaten Ork army at the hands of four models.

When I deepstriked 10 DC and lemartus near a Tau and wasnt able to assault, so he decided he wanted to use the large blast sub munition of his hammer head on them, being already lined up in a perfect circle for the template. He hits, fails to wound half, I save more, and then when he thinks my feel no pain wont save me, boom no one dies, the rest of the game was a slaughter XD

Eh, on average assuming he hit all 11 he'd still only kill 1, not too far off the mathematical average if he doesn't kill anyone. Not really too crazy.


Now had it been a Battlecannon...

A successful moment for an opponent of mine:

after 2 dreads and a Kan have wreaked havoc all across his Vanilla Marine forces, his Chapter Master was within 6 inches of my only remaining mobile dread. 6 to hit, 6 to pen, 6 for the result, 6 for the range of the explosion, 6 to wound, 1 to save... the dice betrayed him at the last moment.

Today,when my Hive tyrant single handedly took on the Avatar,3 shining spears,including an exarch,a striking scorpion squad,a farseer and his 3 warlocks with witchblades,and won.

The Avatar was charged and lost 3 wounds in round one.In his turn the rest charged.He killed the spear exarch,one scorpian,and one warlock,before being wounded twice.The spears lost one man to acid blood.A warlock and scorpian was lost to Toxic miasma,he then lost another warlock to No Retreat.

Next turn my Tyrant regenerated 1 wound slayed the 1 warlock and the farseer,and the Avatar,and the jetbike.The scorpians wounded him twice.2 died to acid blood.The scorpian exarch was run down in a sweeping advance.

Funnily enough,the now 1 wound tyrant was killed by a D-cannon,which was blown up by my Zoanthropes warp lance,the same modal that had taken a war walker 1vs1 in an assault,and made countless Invulnerable saves against lances and Krak missiles.The passengers,the last two modals on board for the eldar,were wiped out by my ten strong stealer squad.

Emperor's Champion drop-podding in on turn 2 with a crusader squad (meltagun and PF). The melta opens up on a Baal Pred, doing nothing. On my opponent's turn the fires a devastator squad's worth of kraks and bolters into the squad, killing everyone except the Champion. Champion proceeds to roll an 11 on his morale and runs away. On my turn he regroups, gets his 3" consolidation, moves back and charges the Baal Predator, wrecking it. Next turn he proceeds to cut down the entire Devastator Squad, and the turn after he exploded another Baal Predator.

Sucks that the rest of the army got Furioso'd and Sanguinor'd though. :S
