Hello all,
I have been skulking around here for about the past year and a half, and thought it was time to join. I have been looking to a forum site to join, I like the general community I have seen at dakkadakka, and prefer the relaxed atmosphere here as opposed some of the other sites I have seen. I have been playing and collecting war games since 1996. These days I don’t get to play very much so I mostly collect, or as my wife puts it I’m a hoarder. I like big armies, I’m not a kid anymore, so I don’t really like to start a new army unless I can invest enough to get at least 3000 points out of it, please don’t think me arrogant I just don’t have any other hobbies so I really devote myself to this one. Mostly I play Games Workshop games, 40k, Warhammer Fantasy, Mordheim, and Gorkamorka. Primarily I just play 40k these days, just not a fan of Fantasy 8th edition, but I still love to collect. I used to be a big tournament player, but these days I have little love for that style of play and look forward to large friendly games.
For Warhammer I have Dwarfs, Empire, Dark Elves, Ogres, Vampires, Orcs, Chaos Dwarfs, and Kislev. For 40K I play Guard, Space Marines, DA Death Wing, Squats (IG), Iyanden Eldar, Dark Eldar, and Orks, Adeptus Arbites. I have recently assembled a Blood Angels army, but have not played with them. I have to give a big shout out to ArbiterIan, I have had an Arbites army lying around for years and his blog has inspired me to finish them. That is one of my biggest reasons for joining the site to talk to people who play more often and encouragement to finish projects.
My current projects are to finish my Arbites Army for 40k. The biggest hang up to these guys was settling on rules and a paint scheme. For fantasy I have been amassing a Dark Elf Army, for the past 4 months, so that needs to get started and my Chaos dwarfs need some loving.
Largest armies to date:
For Warhammer would be Dwarfs, at last count 25,000 points
For 40k would be IG not sure on points, but around 500 guardsmen of various types and close to 50 tanks.
So in a nut shell that is the gaming story of me, I hope to talk more with you all.
