Well I've been thinking and correct me if I'm wrong, Matt Ward dosn't get to make the desicion whether or not his codex's are to be produced. Is it not up to the head honchos of Gw to relaese a codex editor's work? I think we might be playing the blame game because we need exactly that, someone to blame. If what I post is true, its not Matt Ward's fault his books are released as actual army books, it's the idiot buisness-men who let his garbage get released. Sure Matt Ward writes broken/overpowered codexi (im going to start calling them as such), but Gw could just not give him leave to write such evils and go on to the next editor. Is any of this correct? Just a thought.

Mat Ward doesn't write overpowered/broken codices. From what I can see in your signature you play at least one army of his, so you should know this. He writes fluff that ranges from mostly good (most of Codex: Space Marines) to pretty bad (Draigo) and that's where much of the ire he draws comes from. To think he is solely responsible for anything bad in a codex is ridiculous, as these things are run by editors and influenced by model makers and other people in the GW staff. Now while much of the perceived problems are his fault, it's not all up to him.

Your statement about us playing the blame game seems to be pretty much dead on. I don't see why everyone seems to speak of him like he's the Boogeyman, Jar Jar Binks, and Adolf Hitler all at once when really all he did was write some bad fluff.

Yeah I did play Grey Knights, Im selling them now becuase #1 I get so much sh*it for playing them and #2 I really dont like them. I enjoy an army with more models and one that dosent have force weapons on the basic troop choice. I do agree that vanilla marines is a good codex, its very balanced. But Im only talking about Gk and BA, and hopefully not Necrons

Matt Ward's rules are fine. His fluff is of variable quality, usually falling somewhere in the "mediocre-poor" area.

It's his fault for writing it, and it's GW's fault for approving it. Matt Ward is by no means good, and is probably, in terms of fluff, the worst writer GW has on staff, but he's by no means the Hitlerstalinmousollinisatanpolpothussein of gaming that people make him out to be. I just think someone needs to kinda watch over his shoulder while he writes and intervene when appropriate.

Hell if I know. Im not directly assaulting Matt Ward, Im just wondering if all the buzz about him is ALL his fault. Which in my imho isn't.
