Here's a thread about this from a couple months ago:

No pics of mine handy, but it's a pretty small 'workbench' I made by adding some parts onto my ikea "Gorm" shelving. I two extra short shelves and two extra legs. Cut the legs down and installed the shelves at an acceptable height. it's not perfect. mainly because the shelves as established don't leave much leg room, but it works. Added a piece of cheap plexy from the home depot to provide a solid work surface (the Gorm shelves have slots in them). Very cheap solution, but not the biggest.

Why have so many of these types of threads been appearing lately? And all while I'm redecorating?

Mine's the dining table, with a gardening potting tray on it.

Compared to the GW painting tray, it's twice as big, and there's loads of room to mix paint on it.

It's not just painting its an experience! This is my area, its not a huge room and it has to contain my guns, models, books, my wife's scrapbooking stuff, xbox, and computer. But modeling has the largest share of space.
This is the main worktable, with the lights off it doesnt look so cluttered...but I cant paint in the dark. It's still a mess, but it always is I start to clean and get distracted and end up filing, painting, or assembling models.

This area of the table is mostly for painting, assembling models sneaks over here sometimes.

this area is primarily for modeling. inside the organizer box are the component parts for space marines: legs, arms, torsos, and a couple boxes of sternguard, ironfist upgrade sprues, and BA characters.

This is how I keep my paints out of the way, still has space for two more shelves I just need to put them up. Its nothing special 3/4 inch pine boards screwed roughly into the wall studs, in the bigger pic you can see two pieces of blue tape marking more studs.

to the right of my desk I keep unopened boxes, I consolidate opened boxes sprues into similar boxes, my mold making supplies, basing materials, foam cutter, and paints I dont use on any regular basis. Believe it or not there's a whole eldar army in there.

This is where completed models go...theres a fair amount of painted and damaged, and WIP stuff cluttering the lower levels.
