What I mean is I made a librarian out of parts from a command squad, using the knight bits, and was wondering if I could equip a power sword, and count it as a force weapon?

So long as it's painted in some way that makes it easily distinguishable from a power sword, it shouldn't be an issue.

Thank you, I was afraid, since force weapons are a different thing than power weapons, and the sword is beautiful.

As long as the model is identifiable as a Librarian I don't really care what his Force Sword looks like. Librarian power armors or terminator suits are usually mainly blue in Codex chapters. That's what you'd identify them from long before inspecting a tiny little CCW.

Librarians are a deeper shade of blue than the Ultramarines' standard colour, so you'd still be able to distinguish a "properly" painted librarian.

For thirteen years I had a dog with fur the darkest black. For thirteen years he was my friend, oh how I want him back.

That really just depends on who painted them. In the current codex, even the regular Ultramarines are painted darker than they used to be, so that's not really much of a guide.

Isn't there an ultramarines blue?

Anyway, back OT, usually, with blood angels, the librarian will have blue power armor, and something red, like the edges of the shoukder pads, I also plan on placing the insignia for blood angels on the shoulder.

The Psychic Hood is probably the easiest thing to distinguish. Easy enough to Green Stuff a cloth hood and just say it's psychic IMO. FWIW I'm usually very adamant about WYSIWYG and I see no problem at all with this.

Tier 1 is the new Tactical.

Well, there is a librarian model that doesn't have a hood on it.

As for WYSIWYG, that's for upgrades, if it's all standard issue equipment, WYSIWYG shouldn't be an issue.

There is, but other citadel colors look better. Even GW doesn't use ultramarine blue for ultramarines any more (FYI: the color existed and had that name way before 40k... so someone was being clever)

Enchanted doesn't do so well for uLTRAMARINES.

When I was starting out I painted a Ultrasmurf Tac squad. It was Shining Gold and Enchanted.Looked awful, and not just cause I was a bad painter.

Thankfully I have gotten better at painting.I also have seen the light.I read Dawn of War 2(the novel) and now have about 4500 pts of Blood Ravens.

True. I was using the models on GW's web page as a guide, but it obviously depends on how you paint it.

Would a silver armor be appropriate, with mechrite hands and shoulders?

Never seen a problem in any tournament in my region -if- the model in question is different enough from the rest of the army. I always appreciate people doing conversion work on their armies.

Adam's Motto: Paint, Create, Play, but above all, have fun. -and for something silly below-

"We are the Ultramodrines, And We Shall Fear No Trolls. bear this USR with pride".

Also, how does one apply to be a member of the Ultramodrines? Are harsh trials involved, ones that would test my faith as a wargamer and resolve as a geek?

You must recite every rule of Dakka Dakka. BACKWARDS.

Nothing says you can't paint a librarian silver. You can just make up some fluff about how the chapter felt blue was too sissy or something.

As long as you pay the points for the model, and it is at least somewhat distinguishable from the rest of the army, there shouldn't be any problems.

You can paint anything any colour you want, until GW makes it official and all Space marines have to be ultramarines.
My GK libi is Silver, My imperial Fists Libi is yellow and a blue shoulder pad,
no probs so far

Well, I think it would be nice, the mechrite red is a blood angels color, I would also use one of those cast offs on the shoulder.

OK,fair enough.I was just thinking, that the GK have silver armour with blue robes.Silver armour will make it seem like a GK.

If you paint it blue you could have a bare handed model and say he was just using his hands as a force weapon. Making your own model out of GW parts so long as he has the right wargear or something that is very easy to see as being the war gear is always OK. So to determine if your Librarian is "legal" is he at least partly painted Ultra Marine blue? Does he have a weapon he can be using as a force weapon? Is he a space marine in some kind of Space marine armor? And since the blue part is kind of optional anyways i'd say your good.

Hoods aren't clothe. They are metal things, and Libbies actually have it modalled on to them. All GK have a mini version, but it has no effect in games.

Paint your marines any color you want. The important thing is just to make sure that your librarian stands out in some way from your other troops. This can be done with color variation or added bits on the model.

There are some GW Librarians with no psychic hoods. Some just have wires plugging into their skull.
