Personally, I'm finding it hard to get excited about the new Phantom titan from Forgeworld. As a Titan lover, that's hard for me to say. I have the Revenant and I love it. I think it really captures the feel of the Eldar, and I really love how posable it is. But for the Phantom, that's not what I'm looking for at all. What I loved about the Armorcast Phantom was how tall and stately it looked, like it was going to stand there and take its sweet time in obliterating your army, but look good doing it. The new one, however, just looks like an oversized Revenant. I was just wondering which of the two your average Dakka-er prefers, or if maybe I'm just letting my recent general distaste toward GW cloud my judgement.

The Armorcast one looks far too static to be an Eldar Titan.

Ummm i have no idea which is which, but the first one is cooler. It's sleeker and more eldar-y, plus it has a jet pack.

FW one is a much, much cooler model. The armorcast one is cool because it's mimicing the Epic model, but it doesn't compare to the new one.

The first one appears to be suffering from a severe case of wingzeroitis. I'd prefer a fusion of the two, tbh. Better poses for the second would be best, imo.

You're crazy.

The Forgeworld model is awesome. The Armorcast kit is a scaled up version of the 2nd edition styled Epic Eldar, which, while not bad, simply doesn't look as good.

That said, if someone plonked it on the table in an Apocalypse game, I wouldn't have any issues playing against it.

The one with the jet pack is actually the smaller Revenant titan, shown for scale purposes.

The new one is just boring to me. It looks like a bigger revenant. I miss the old helmet and fancy shoulders. The new one is very eldar, though.

Call me crazy, but I like the legs/feet and head of the new FW one, but the torso, arms, and spines of the old Armorcast. If I had the cash and motivation, I would try to find a copy of both, kit bash them, have some fun making up a dynamic pose, and end up with, IMHO, the best looking mini possible. But that's just me.

The FW one also has the benefit of 20 or so years MORE improved sculpts.

I prefer the AC one - but that's because I have one and it cost me a lot less than the FW one would - and didn't have any of the casting issues that the FW probably does have (because ALL of their casts do).

Yeah - you're crazy

I like the armorcast one but it's not as graceful as the one above, in details as well as pose. I guess if they combined elements of the two then that would be better

I prefer the forge world overall BUT

the way they've posed the model in that picture is terrible, it looks like it's in the middle of a dance sequence, not at war.

They're both trying to figure out how to dance to the YMCA song and failing hard.

The little one has got the "M" right but is in the wrong place, whereas the big one ate too many pork pies and now isn't athletic enough to pull off the "Y".

In response to the OPs original question, yes you are crazy.

The FW model os better in every aspect. However I would have kept the arm weapons over from the original Epic design (which the Armourcast one is just an upscaled version of) or at leasts styled to the new asthetic.

The small arms holding a gun is not really something I am a fan of on Mech models.

The Armorcast design is much nicer, but the arms on both make them look rather absurd.

The first one is way cooler, it looks more nimble and sleek, as you might expect from Eldar, I think the second looks clunkier.

I think that most of my dislike for the Forgeworld model comes from the head, and possibly the shoulders too. I really don't like that it just looks like a super-sized Revenant titan. I wish they had kept the head design of the Armorcast, Epic, and every piece of artwork featuring a Phantom titan. I'm not sure that I want nimble from a massive Phantom titan. Sure, the Revenant is supposed to be very nimble, but it has jetpacks and relies on outmaneuvering its enemies. The Phantom is supposed to be graceful, but I don't think it's going to be doing any jump-kicks.

FW Revenant is the best of the 3 imo.
The new FW one as mentioned numerous times just looks like an oversized Guardian. How wonderfully boring.
The AC one does have its charm but is a little static. I still rate it over the newer FW one though.

How tall is the AC one in comparison to the other two?

TBH I think the FW Eldar titans just look like giant Dire Avengers. I'm not a fan of old models but I think the older one in this case does look better in terms of it looking different from other Eldar stuff instead of just a bigger version.

Well I guess you have either been very unlucky or not purchased more than 1 item from fw. Out of the 20 kits I have bought from fw only 1 had a micast, a new part was posted to me within a week.

As for the qustion, fw Titan for me

As someone who's been around a long time.... for all the reasons you state in the OP... I like the FW titan better. The Armor Cast titan (while cool), looks like a statue. The FW titan looks like a living creature.
