So, i was just messing around, and i came up with a suit heavy 2500 point list. I was just wondering how people saw this, and if they thought this could work.

I tried to give each suit team a fusion gun with a target lock, this way, if confronted by something like a dread naughts, or a land raider, the leader can attack it with out wasting the rest of the units fire power. I think i am probably spending too many points of upgrades, but it seems like i will have a lot of fire power that can fire at many different targets. There are 21 suits in this army, and most of the units can split fire. I know body guards are very pricey, but they are the only way i can get more of them on the field.

Looks like a solid list and trust me your not spending to many points on upgrades as my Commander and his 1 Bodygaurd can go to excess of 250pts, 269pts if you want to be exact so the list seems solid IMO.

I would recommend drone controllers on your shas'vre suits and throw in some more shield drones and drop a few kroot to make up for the points cost. Those 4++ saves totally ruin people's days all the time. My buddy runs an almost all suit army (Farsight and otherwise) and those shield drones make my life hell as an Imperial Guard player. Just a suggestion.

hmmmmm, interesting, ill try to think what to get rid of for them. i can take out 2x kroot, and 2x fire warriors which gives each XV8 suit a shield drone. then the list looks like this

Stick with the second one it is better than the first one which was already solid, in this world there is alot of insta death against suits and AP3 and putting wounds on drones helps alot.

nice list thats about what i use at that level except i run all plasma but really a good balanced list

Not saying it isn't going to work.. but it's got some range preference conflicts.

FB is a nice ace up the sleve if the local mech is getting too close personally i run some piranhas in the mix to block that but FB leaders is a cheap and effective way to go especially with the TA on the leader

True facts, this. You may want to try and tweak it a bit more so that instead of having every tau suit being able to do everything mediocre, you have some that excel in one, and some that excel in other areas.

Two shield drones would be a lot better than 1. You'll find that the suit teams really need them. Two squads of firewarriors aren't really needed. They aren't that great.

Even out the kroot to make it harder for target priority.

Fusion blaster with deathrains isn't optimal. The highest range gun with closest range gun, moreover the usage of each. Stick with homogenous suit teams or at least pair up weapons that have similar roles.

Put targeting arrays on the bodyguards otherwise they are just expensive suits even if your elite slot is already maxed.

Put one shield drone on teamleader for broadside thay way you can abuse wound allocation. Bonding knife doesn't seem that useful since you'll probably run off the board before being able to regroup unless you field them up field.

Otherwise, list looks good. Lots of high quality firepower.
