I've noticed that there is a "rank" under the Username. How do you change it?

Also, how do you select a part of a quote? I can only do the whole quote.

With regards to ranks, you would be better served looking in the Nuts & Bolts section as it is a question that gets asked a lot. Short answer, the rank changes depending on the amount of posts you have posted (also, please don't use that as an excuse to spam loads of crap in order to boost your rank - this is very strictly discouraged!)

As for the quote bit, there isn't a function to select the text you want to quote, as far as I know. When you hit quote to reply to someone, if you only want to quote a certain portion of their text, then you need to cut/paste/delete as appropriate. Remember, you can highlight what someone has written and copy it (ctrl+c) then hit reply, paste the text in and add the quote tags yourself.

The rank relates to your post count, and follows a progression that is determined by the rank track option in your profile.

To quote part of a post, hit the quote button and then just delete the part of the post you don't want to include, making sure you leave the 'quote' and '/quote' tags in place.
