So now I've finished basing a new pile of ork boyz, and they need to be named; i write the name of each model on it base for fun, so you can announce that your opponent ha brutally murdered poor "Srad" of that Mef has shot 2 Guardians.

Anyway, I need more names and i cant make up as many as there are orks in my army, so please help me. Just tell me your ideas and ill use them (provided they are orky)

Examples: Srad, Bumguhl, Borg, Rukk, Hef, Mogroff (single names for boys, double names and titles for nobs, like Rogbotz da Wagonbreaka or Turk Grob Srond) or Piff, Fling, Sparf or something like that for grots

Easiest option would be to find a copy of Waaargh the Orks! It contains rather a good article on Orky language and glyphs, as well as an Ork name generator.

Throw a few syllables together that are fun to yell. You now have an orky name

^ROFL!

Although I think that Joorge Boosh would be a better orky name. Then you could add in a brit comedy reference by calling him Da Mighty Joorge Boosh!

Try and make orky names out of biblical ones. Jesork. Ezorkill. stuff like that.

I do the same thing and name all my boyz, but since I'm a lazy, unimaginitize git I use the Orky Name Generator

That actually uses the aforementioned 2nd edition name generator. Nice find, I could have some fun with that. I have half a dozen unamed HQs on my desk.

One thing that makes a good an propa ork name is that it probably has two syllables, one syllable is some thing disgusting, like snot, the next is something domestic, like rock.

So my warlord is called Snotroc, that's what I would call a Fantasy warlord is I ever started, too.

I got that from J.R.R. Tolkien's stuff, like Shagrat and Gorbag. Gore being disgusting, bag being domestic. Simple, as most ork grammer and etymology is!

zilegil has a great idea there.

I was going to say that Orcs also tend to name each other based on what they do. Imagine an Ork losing his pistol or axe and how hard he would be laughed at and go from there. Being the lore fiend I am, I saw this in Imperial Glory as well. (Lots of book references for me today!)

Although I have to say, I like that disgusting/domestic thing a whole lot better!

I love the smell of cordite in the morning.

The Third Ed. Ork codex had an Ork alphabet in it, together with a number of the more common glyphs. If you can get a copy of that, it might help you. Wazzdakka, for instance, translates to "fast shot", or perhaps "fast an' shooty".

Zilegil has the right idea

-ug's, -ob's and -ukk's and other blunt and unintelligent sounding suffixes work well:

Goglug, Bargob, Gutzukk, Rotrag, Wogzart, Oglag, Klangk...

Come to think of it, G's work pretty well, also
