Subject: Custom Standard Bearer - Hand painted banner!
Well here I am putting out my banner for all to criticize, judge or comment. The scene itself was inspired by events that occurred in the Crimson Fist Novel Rynn's World. I would appreciate honest opinions, good or bad! I just ask that if they are bad reviews, please do it respectfully and constructively.
Here is a quick pic.... but the real goodiness is in the HD Video (LINK BELOW!)
Judging on the movie, because the picture won't load, is that you got the proportions wrong.
Small thinned out faces is the problem. And you maybe want to thin your paint down. But I'm not sure if I'm correct on that one.
You might want to practice some on that proportions stuff. Nonetheless, really nice try. I'd like to see you do it even better

I really like the shield and the concept of the banner. Showing a pic of a hero holding a slain foe can never be bad for inspiring fellow marines.
I think you could have spent a little more time on the leg of the figure; it looks like a line of white with no detail. Also, it might be good to define the figures with some black likes. For instance, you could pick out the details of the space marines helment with black outlines.
To be honest, now that I have left the pic/video out there for everyone to review it, I will give my opinion. I think it sucks. I was very close to stripping it.
The only reason I didn't want to strip it was that in a few years, I could look back as a comparison! And so, it shall stay, but I am NOT happy with the banner result. :(

The eyes on the banner are way off, and that s the only thing I can focus on when i see it.
The main issue is that eyes are not white. And second issue is that eyes are round not flat. This is partly because you are painting on a flat surface and not a sculpted face and partly color selection.
The first problem can be solved by using either a blue grey or a tan color like bone.
Thhe second problem can be fixed by starting with a darker color of the colors mentioned and building up to a lighter color in the center .
