somehow your pics are mostly grainy.... your minis deserve a better cam!!! the vets are awsome... did you use goliath plastic arms from necromunda? got a couple of those too... for some reason i never thought about using that way.... great idea!!!
love that army... and somehow catachans rise like fungus^^
i ´ve heard often people complain about primer being grainy...sometimes i think like this...extra free texture... nothing to be sneezed at^^ well of course that only aplies with bigger surfaces with big models... on the average footsoldier thats a blow of course^^
i like the way you posed your minis on the HW bases.,..that guy with the shovel is pure win, very good captured movement! also i like how you used that mortar arm on the other fella...looks like he changes the battery on the lascanon! from what did you make those bolter shelss by the way? also i have to say from that distance the frosted primer is a bit looking through but i think in game you seldom will see anything of that stuff! the poses and the paintjobs cover this up to all extent!
great stuff!

well for the vests i think a darkening wash ad you are good to go, a tad on the bright side they are currently...glass beads... if you have any could you show them unpainted? i think the paint makes it very much into a whole new form...

ok missunderstanding... i understood and knew what you used and probably know of a place where to get them, i just wanted to see them in their natural state as then i could see how they transformed^^ i have played with the thought of useing spagehetties cut to size for that job by the way^^
how much points are gathered there? looking good and that pirate of a catachan is super! that sword is even bigger than him... catachans are such muscled up guys^^

http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/349548.page as it happens to be in this thread i think are some really good conversions shown... and by the way mine are shown too... which i am rather proud of as they look like they could pack quite a punch^^
i think that a tallarn and catachan force would be a good troop amalgam... these two forces have much in common...cadians and catachans on the other hand make catachans always look like penial troops...which would be in your case of your army be quite unfair!

i think your conversions are very good and i am very much jelous of some ideas you have done. i think some of these i have to nick^^
the melta conversion, secon pic, looks extremly steampunk in my opinion...also i like the idea of that underslung talon grenade launcher! that is quite a nice idea especially to a catachan army as i picture them as some nam army and this fits in so many ways!
as for your pictures... i think there is a photograhpic titorial of great helping here... mom...
http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/317430.page
this should greatly help you imrove your pics... and my two cents:
don´t go too near, zoom in instead... some focus related problem then wont happen, and also your lens wont be darkened by shadows from the mini... i think the running vet shows that problem a bit...
also i think taking daylight pics whenever possible is the way to go as this produces the best results... using artificial lights always produce somewhat fishy colors and thus loos like you ruined your work...which is in fact definatly not the way it is! fact, period!^^

i like your camo style... would mean much in actual combat but it looks very stylish! is the onehanded bolter guy allowed anymore? would guess not...as for the femme...i would of course keep her^^ muawwahhhaaa^^ no seriously she is a nice addition and i would love to have one day more of females in my army... well never say never^^

don´t be too modest about the camo scheme, i like it very much! in fact you tried a lighter one most peeps use darker versions... yours is a very set apart theme and thus original!
when i see your pointing commander in the tank... i remember the colonel from apocalypse now... i think one day you have to model him with his cav hat and all his glory^^

well you could use putty for masking....you know the one kids use to make snowmens and such like things? playdoh and such stuff... and later on you just pull it off...could work...
natural shelf dust for weathering... lol...that cracked me up^^
one day i would like to use an airbrush myself...but thats currently out of the question...no room, no money... well this song gets quite old...

to tell you the truth... every time i make something i like doing for hobby reasons i dream about selling that then for real...but then i see how i fail my own design and then later on dump that idea again...one of these days i should really go to town with a good design and mabye cast some and then sell them... there is a guy at ebay germany that sells almost every week a nid droppod made out of a casted begabricks egg...
and he gets about 15€ each.... not only violates others properties but he does it way small but it still produces cash....

on the contrary mate! i think this is a mouthwatering pice of a model... and your idea with two tractor chimeras sounds brilliant...thats transport for the gun and even for the support crew... i call that clever planning! i was just referring to the size which would justify keeping the documenbtatin of the modelmaking in your terrain thread...

say do you own a fitting crew to maintain that canon? i mean there are old oop catachan gunners around.... that would be very cool to have these guys around...even the tank crew... the fellas just siiting on top of tanks, the hangers on would be a nice addition... and paying 50 bucks for that kit i guess is more than worth it... also the $ is so low atm... iirc that for me it would be quite a bargain^^
