Now that SM is out, I think we should do what all gamers do when they get a game. Talk about the next game they want. In that flow, what do you want to see as the next 40k game to be made?

For my money I think they should make more action games in the 40k setting (We mostly get RTS games), only flowing the different sides. We have are SM game, now lets get are ork game (make it like borderlands with random guns. Ork tech lends it's self well to that), A tau game (A good one this time, where your in a crisis suit jump shoot jump makes a fun game play style.) , A inquisitor game (make it a bit like Dx where you can pick between sneaking fighting or other things), and other sides could each get there own games.

dark millennium is really the next big 40k game, unless DoW 3 comes out before that.

A Halo/Half Life level epic story driven fps is all I'd like at the moment, but yeah Dark Millenium is the one folks are waiting for at the mo.

Isn't Space Marine sort of like that?

The story doesn't seem as epic because we already know the setting to well.

A 40k flavored version of the Star Wars Battlefront games please. I absolutely loved battlefront 2, and still pick it up to conquer the galaxy with a like minded friend on occasion.

If the game could feature more then Orks vs Space Marines => Space Marines vs CSM that would be really sweet too.

Space Marine, is pretty much is a God of War clone, and I didn't like that game much either.

If I get it it'll be to try the multiplayer, but probably going to request it as a christmas gift rather than buy myself.

Didn't catch the "fps" part. And it's nothing like God of War. lol

Close combat themed 3rd person game, thats how I would have noted it, although I only played the demo of God of War so who knows.

Id like a new version of Rites of War or Chaos Gate, I love turn based strategy games.

I sort of agree with you. I LOVED a game called Warhawk for PS3. It was a third person shooter with a lot of team elements. There was A LOT of vehicle combat and I would love to see some more of that. Imagine climbing into a Land Raider with some of your friends in Terminator armor and disembarking them at your enemies base to capture their flag, blasting lascannons or assault cannons to support them as they get the flag. Flying around in a Stormraven blowing up tanks on the ground as you drop off your infantry cargo on an objective. I would love to see a multiplayer mode like this in the next Space Marine game. More vehicles please!

The more i think about it the more this would be really good idea. Titans for AT-AT's .....different maps have the different factions . Would be really good imo.

Too Human fits under that aspect too, and is nothing like God of War.

God of War was a platformer with 3rd person butchery. It was very much like the "Prince of Persia" games at the time.

I’d personally like to see an offline 40k RPG (a Diablo 2 or Dynasty Warriors style game would be awesome). That being said, I also would like to see another 40k game beside DOW where Space Marines aren’t the main/only faction playable in story mode. It’d also be cool to see a 40k game that doesn’t involve the Blood Ravens and Ultramarines.

I would like to see something akin to Star Wars: Empire At War based on 40K. That would be an awesome game, more Strategy than a true RTS, with a deeper scope and space battles (c'mon, which BF Gothic fan wouldn't like that?). Forge Worlds give bonuses to production, Ecclessarch Worlds add fervor, Death World's add tough infantry and are a bitch to invade, Hive Worlds add to population cap, etc. stuff like that.

A Battlefield/Battlefront type 40K game would be awesome as well. I would love to see vehicles. I could see Marines getting LR's just like Stormtroopers could take AT-AT's on Battlefront.

I'd like a BFG space fleet battel kind a game like those old WWII naval PC games they use to make.

Fire Warrior was great for what I bought it for. It was silly, funny, and very campy. Sure, it sucked HARD, but it was a good kind of bad.

Instead of a Shooter with small RPG elements like Fallout or Mass Effect, I would like to see a real RPG used for 40k like Neverwinter Nights or Drakensang or at least Knights of the old Republic.



Beside that I enjoyed Chaos Gate, Final Liberation and even Firewarrior.

I enjoyed ,,Shadow of the horned Rat" desptie no love for Warhammer Fantasy, until two hopping squigs wasted all my heavy elite troops including knights with some jumps.

Actual that never left topic. This thread is about making up 40k games we want to see. Oh I loved the old space hulk game. Every night I search my room for that archive record viewer.

I remember the old Space Hulk game...I think I tried it once then gave up. Imagine playing Space Hulk, and remember that if Genestealers get to you, you're pretty much dead. Now try playing it in real-time, where you control all 5 squad members individually, from a first person point of view. Couldn't make it past the first hallway

I hate to say it, but i think the only games we'll ever see are space marine games.
And to be honest, i think thats the right way to go.

Game direction nowadays tends to be more heavily orientated towards mainstream than ever before which is why I also agree that most 40k games will most likely involve Space Marines as the only playable race. It would be a bit hard to squeeze multiple story modes for the various factions (especially with an RTS style game) however depending on the nature of the game they could get around it.

• Dungeon Crawl style RPG ala Diablo 2. Implement the villains as a neutral third party faction (like nids or necrons) and various factions can be supported easily via additional NPCs and cut scenes.
• Dynasty Warriors style game (format allows for multiple factions with minimal effort)
• Skirmish orientated 40k sim.
• Space fleet game based of BFG.
