Just went into on something weird.

I stumbled onto a pic that had 5 votes, and that had something close to 4.5 in painting, 5 in coolness.

Honestly, I think it deserved better than that (and the model was pretty cool), so I gave it a 6 in painting and 8 in coolness.

When I look back at it, it now has 6 votes, but 3.5 in painting, 4.5 in coolness (which is less than when I voted).

So I'm all "What the "

Maybe someone else voted at the same time as you, except gave both a one or a two?

Well, then that would make 7 votes, not 6 !

Right...I missed that part...

The highest and lowest votes are cut out when scoring to remove the extremes. As the number of votes increases, this makes it very accurate, and it also cuts down on the bad votes. Most likely someone had voted 10/10 on the image, and so that vote was removed as out of the norm, dropping the overall score. If someone also voted 0/0 or 1/1, that will be the next to go, increasing the score.

So if I get you right :

- when you have 5 votes, 5 are taken into account ;
- at 6 votes, you have 5 taken into account (highest removed);
- at 7 votes, you have 5 taken into account (highest AND lowest removed)
- at 8 votes, you have 6 ;
- at N votes, you have N-2 ...

Is that it ?

That is a little bit off, but I dont want to go into specifics as it would help people game the system with voting bots if they were focused on abuse.

*sigh*...

I wouldn't even begin to see the point in creating "voting bots"...

What image is it? As I've seen some of your paintings and I can't imagine them ever going that low, they look fantastic.
