Now I looked in the codex about this and it seems that if I want to put a CC weapon on my TAC Squad Sarge. I need to replace my bolt pistol with it. But in the color pictures in the back of the book I see sarges with a bolt pistol and a cc weapon too. Whats with this and please clarify.

I think you're better off just giving him the fire banner, because Space Marines really don't have many answers for Hell Pit Abominations.

I just checked the codex and it states the following for the sarge:

"The Space Marine Sergeant may replace his boltgun and/or bolt pistol with:"

Since he comes with both based on the Standard Wargear loadout, you can drop the boltgun, keep the bolt pistol, and pick up a CC weapon.

I dunno. A flaming banner is nice and all but wouldn't that work better in your Devestator squad? I mean Lascannons with their 48" range are a lot nicer to use against a HPA. The question is, what happens when your Tac squad loses combat against the swarm of Clanrats and breaks? I mean, how does your Sergeant explain that in his after-action report?

They might break, but thanks to ATSKNF they can't be run down, so they'll just auto-rally.

Space Marines don't lose a combat, GW won't allow it!

Against Teclis they sure as hell do.
