i was thinking about a list that basically blows the crap out of my enemy with massive explosions. I was thinking about iron warriors or iron hands because i love the mechanized type. A conversion beamer.. yes, god yes. also thinking about thunderfire cannons and dreds, lots of dreds. basically i want a list that can blow up my enemy then send in melee like maybe termies in a lrr to finish off whats left. any ideas?

I would say to field vindicators too, a nice str 10 large blast will really blow stuff up! ( if it manages to get into range)

When it comes to blowing things up, there's no match for the imperial guard. Ranging from all kinds of artillery guns (especially the Medusa), the manticore, a gazillian types of Leman Russes, rocket pod valks, rocket launcher HWS, to the portable bomb that Vets and SWS get (forgot the name... someone help me out!), IG just has the right tools to make stuff go boom.

If however you really want to take Space Marines, I can't really help you out besides suggesting Vindicators and the conversionbeam techmarine lads. Dreads are awesome but offer little on the side of blowing stuff up... Time someone invented the Dread with the Battlecannon!... oh wait... Defilers^^

Squadrons of Leman Russes! Go go IG! It's not the MOST competetive thing in the world.. .but IG can put a TON of FA14 on the table.

Mof with C-Beamer, Rifleman dread, LC/ML dread, Cyclone Termies, and of course... tanks.
I believe there is a SM army that allows for Dreads in 3 different FoC slots.

ok yeah i like the idea of just crap ton of tanks. and im willing to go with iron warriors or iron hands. they seem the most mech. i love the ig but everyone i play with has ig... so i want to be different. im leaning on the hands because i can field a motf with the beamer. the idea of being able to field 6 dreds is aweseom because i want to blow them up, then come in with like a lr with termies and maybe 2 cc dreds to clean up. so i was thinking a few thunder fire cannons, a vendicator, the motf etc for some booming beat down and when the enemy gets close unleash the cc to either road bump and allow my boom guns to get away and reload or just mop things up.

or going chaos and using a def instead of dreds and just blowing stuff up like that. i want a crap ton of plates. just plates everywhere and then have some termies and a dred or two as my only decent cc to just kind of widdle my foe down then hit them with an anvil.

Don't forget the Chapter Master for the oneshot plate, S10 ap1 barrage.
Whirlwind also takes plate shots.

With Chaos, Tzeench would probably turn your hands, feet and face into
scrotums, complete with appropriate nerve endings. Then Khorne would
force you and all your friends to fight to the death using your new
scrotal appendages. Once they get tired of that, you get tossed to
Slaanesh who <censored by order of the Inquisition>, until you finally
end up in Nurgle's clutches and he uses you as a loofah.
