Not too different sculpt-wise, but it's always nice to see the price take a nose-dive.

That's good news. The medium-based units have always been a royal pain to assemble and a big draw on the wallet, according to the complaints I've heard.

The supply does not get to make the demands.

Hmmm...

5 metal Demo Corps = $84.00

5 plastic Demo Corps = $44.99

Switch to a cheaper material and get an almost 50% price cut. Thank you Privateer Press.

Why don't you PP haters get your justifications and complaints out of the way now. The rest of us will simply enjoy well done, less expensive models.

Bam! A preemptive strike against all the haters out there. Take that haters. Put that in your pipe and hate it. You done been told. I hate you.

One of our local Khador players hates all plastic models because they don't weight as much as metal models. I've seen the same opinion expressed on-line and in any context it still sounds insane.

If this was meant to be a dig against GW and Finecast, it kinda fails as GW has seen similar price drops when switching from metal to plastic. For example, Ork Killa Kan price dropped by nearly two-thirds when they went plastic.

5 Metal Terminators were near the same price as the Plastic kit by the time it was released.

As for Killa kans, you either need 3 boxes or to do expensive online bits stores to arm a unit similarly, so they didn't really drop in price much.

Misery. Missouri. Who can tell the difference.

I like the plastic models because that much metal made the minis too top heavy when on a hill or other rough terrain. The switch to plastic has made it so much better. Plus they are so much easier to build. Anyone that has put together ten MoW Shock Troopers and three Kovniks will know.

Sort of true, but most ork players find "creative solutions" to rokkits anyway, the killa kan kit was a huge boon for ork players. Cheaper, better, more options.

No dig against GW. I happen to like the stuff GW makes and will continue to buy things I like. I was just giving the normal PP haters an opening to go ahead and get their complaints out of the way. I swear Privateer Press could give away models made of gold and have them hand delivered to your door by supermodels and some people will still find a reason to complain.

To be fair, any company could do that and someone would whine. Except Wyrd. I don't think I've ever seen anyone direct any real venom at Wyrd. Sure, maybe a "I don't like the models", but Wyrd has apparently never run over anyone's mom or punched their dog in the face.

Ironguts and Leadbelchers weigh in at about $10 each. These PP guys are coming it at $9.00 each. Granted they're better detailed than Ogres but they still aren't exactly cheap. Grats on not having to pay Blood Knight prices for them anymore, though.

I can't recall: did they finally get the stock Man-o-Wars out in plastic? I know that the Bombardiers are out in plastic, as are these. It'd be trivial to convert these into the shield-carrying shocktroopers, at least, and more fun, too, but I'm just wondering if I missed them or something.

I'm not familiar with these models but they look to be about the same size as terminators. They are only nominally less expensive than terminators (about a dollar each), so I don't see how you come up with the argument that you'll enjoy well-done, less expensive models. The fact that they were priced stratospherically high in the first place, doesn't really mean that they are a bargain now that they cost on par with terminators.

He means less expensive than the metal equivalents of the same unit. He even, y'know, showed the comparison.

Not every post is about comparison to GW.

PP models are, in general, more than GW models.

However, PP armies are, in geneal, less expensive than GW armies. So again, it depends on what you value.

If you primarily like having models for the sake of having models, whether to build or paint or just have a gakload of models on display, GW is generally better deal.

If your primary purpose for buying models is to play games, then Privateer Press is generally a better deal.

IMO Warmahordes is a superior game to 40K or Fantasy, and I like the whacky steampunk aesthetic. The fact that my Cygnar army is going to cost me $250 as opposed to $650 for a shiny new 2000 point Dark Eldar army simply sweetens the deal.

I think they're both on 40mm bases, which should give a reasonable size comparison.

Terminators are smaller than the Man-o-Wars (men-o-war?)

Biccat has it correct, they're both on 40mm.

MoW are taller, but Terminators are bulkier as a whole(due to the more squat stances and thicker limbs) if I remember my comparison correctly.

Wow, those must have been awful to assemble in metal, particularly the shoulder pads. Nice to see such a drastic price cut with the material change. Warmahordes is intriguing, and something I may have to look into eventually.

And I'm pretty positive that the grammatically correct phrase would be "men-o-war."

Ive been wanting one of those for a loooong time... I think now is a good day to get them ^^

I like the models, and im glad with the news...

But i must say, those are NOT low cost. They metal version was huge expensive, they just drop to acceptable costs now. Maybe the regular man-o-war is coming?

Oh, and PP going for plastic is great news, they are planning a sci-fi game, maybe we just see plastic in it

If my post show some BAD spelling issues, please forgive-me, english is not my natural language, and i never received formal education on it...

It all lays within the perception of value. WMH is a game where models are very similar to GW prices.
However the general consensus from what I've observed is that WMH players respect PP, love the game, and feel that each model purchase adds a whole new dynamic to how their army is played due to each model having various special rules, abilities and alike.

40k players viewing PP models will simply compare them physically.

While in game, these Man-o-wars are tough as bricks, and can smash through jacks like cheese. They pack a punch in game.

Not saying these models are 'cheap' at all because it is still a fat price.
