I searched 'Gotrek' and the closest I got to this thread was someone say that by the time he dies, the stuff about his axe will be explained. Anyway, my question is, how will he die?
I think that being a slayer and all, and being such a bad one (debatable I know, but if you read the books you get what I mean by that) at that, he will look for a way to get close to Grimnir, and I think he will find a way to get to the northern gate in the wastes and enter it, just as Grimnir did. And he will find Grimnir still battling hordes, and slay some uber daemon with him (maybe the one who anoints each new champion of chaos, bel'kael or something isn't it?). He will die and recieve Grimnir's blessing, tears all around at our heroe's eventual demise (and there will be tears dammit!).

Sounds pretty awesome. Though I never been blessed by the text of the book (havent read it) I think you mean hes a bad slayer coz he doesnt die.

EDIT: Oh and the daemons name is Be' Lakor, and he is in the chaos warp I think.

Yeah my bad, I knew it started with a B and had a ' in it. But that's as close as I got haha.

Well his death seems to be far away if the current books re something to go by. Im guessing either he takens on a Everchoosen or that he is doomed to forever walk the earth and search for his doom. Althou he have had a few close calls in the recent books

It's the same plot device as gilligans island gilligan can't get off the island because it would end the series, gotrek can't die because the books would end (felix may drop dead though....)
Gotrek will keep slaying monsters and beasts until gw calls it quits IMHO, and i think that's best because Gotrek is possibly my favorite character from ether warhammer universe.

Felix won't drop dead, either. In Elfslayer, Max Shrieber pointed out that Felix has somehow become all but immortal when it comes to aging.

The magic of Gotrek's axe has rendered Gotrek practically unkillable, and seems to be keeping Felix alive too.

If he wanted to die he'd have to drop the axe, but what dwarf would ever give up an axe of maximum killiness?

This is a reasonable idea, but it's unlikely to actually be confirmed or jossed in story.

Borrowed the Long books from a buddy. He regrets buying them i regret reading them, and now he won't take them back. King is one of my favorite authors, Gotrek is one of my favorite characters in literature, and long can tone it down on the times felix gets laid, Gotrek behaves like a sullen child, and Among other things we have his writing style.

As for his death i imagine it something like that.

(Unless it's well known without reading the books, you might want to spoiler pretty much everything, because although i'm not gunna read any G&F books, i'm pretty sure otherwis might, and this sounds like a pretty big plot spoiler).

EVERYONE dies eventually. The question in this case people's thoughts on 'how?'
