Hey peoples, this is my second attempt at painting a mini, not great but hopefully better than the Helbrecht in my gallery I did the Helbrecht before I'd heard of Dakka and basicly knew nothing, after finding this place the tutorials and stuff have been a great help and some of the mini's on here are just rediculous.

Well on to this lil chap, I did shoulders bleached bone as i can't find my skull white anywhere, same with his jump pack he had it one day then it was just gone :S
Took the pics with my fone which may explain why they have a weird orangey yellowyness to them.

Overall I know I have a looong way to go but any C&C is welcome, any pointers for anything I should start to work on most (like highlighting, mines terrible) I'd be greatful.

*Edit* I will see if I can borrow my mates camera beens as those pic's aren't very good quality.

Fun fact... Bears kill thousands of salmon each year, but attacks on bears by salmon are thought to be far less.

That is very good for a second attempt, my black templars were shocking when i started them so i quit them and startyed imperial guard and got better at painting and am now starting my black templars up again.

Already highlighting, as well as doing nice, smooth reds and whites. Very impressive for you second mini!

Glory is fleeting, but obscurity lasts forever.

Considering also your duty as a warrior you should not waver. Because there is nothing more auspicious for a warrior than a righteous war.

The Humies Waste presious time with slow and boring speeches; While the Oks just get it over and done with in one simple WAAGGGHHHH!!

I think the shoulderpads/loincloth could use a thin wash (but that's a personal preference). For a second mini, this is damn good. My second mini was nowhere near this good. Have you considered using an off-white on the spots you want to be white? Bone mixed with white might work a little better for you.

Thanks alot for the comments

@MaximusPrime... Yeah I'm going to see if i can pick up some washes next time I'm by GW
@Jimsolo... Originally I was going to use Skull White for the shoulders but the pot seems to have wandered off, couldn't find it anywhere but the off white sounds good I'll have to try it on my next BT

That's not bad at all for a second attempt. In fact you have tried some painting techniques that I hadn't even tried until I had been painting for years. Like highlighting for instance (and you have done very well).
It looks really nice. That face, the base and the highlighting on the black armour is great. Your white looks very smooth as well.
As already stated it needs a wash and you could fix up the script on the purity seal on the right. Those are my only nitpickings.
Great work on your second model which is better than some of my 30th models!

Looks good! To be honest I was expecting something far worse, but that is not the case here! Always nice to see a fellow brother Templar.
