I was reading through the Necron codex and I noticed an excerpt about a giant spherical anomaly below the galactic plane, which a hive fleet was maneuvering away from. Are there any more references to what this is (other than very bad for the IoM)?

Best guess is that is is the Dyson Sphere the Outsider (ctan) is hanging out it. It's never explicitly said, IIRC, but the hint-fu is strong..

If he ever feels like hatching it would be bad Juju for everyone

Necron's have weapons called World Engines. They're probably about the size of the Ep IV Death Star, except they use a variety of weapons to slowly lay waste to entire worlds as opposed to 1 super beam.

It's the third Death Star. Vader sent it to an alternate dimension just before he turned good.

I'd guess at C'tan though. Won't matter unless they advance the plot again.
