In 2008 I made this miniature from scratch

And painted him like this

I ended up loosing faith in the project as I didn't really like the paintjob I started, so now almost 4 years later I decided it was time for a revamp.

First of I decided he needed some more detail on the shoulders, this was fortunately very easy thanks to forge world.

Then I decided that it was about time he got a really shiny paintjob, so I enlisted him at the emperors favorite boy-scouts, the Imperial Fists!

He then got send of to the artificers department for his new uniform colours...

And here's the first picture of him, I am still working on him so no worries he is by no means done yet, but I felt I reached a stage where he was good enough for showing off and to get some opinions on him before I finish him.

He is painted with my airbrush and I can make a quick and easy tutorial if anyone's interested in my recipe for the yellow. The armor chipping is done with the sponge technique and it still needs some highlights before it's done.

He looks really cool, do think the Imperial Fist's colour scheme suits better than the Crimson Fist's.

The weathering looks really realistic. Is it sponged on?

Would also love to hear your recipe for yellow, as I'm about to start painting an Imperial Fist army, albeit smaller scale.

Keep up the great work.

So for those of you who's interested here's the recipe for my yellow on this guy:

It's all done with an airbrush.
The model is basecoated in vallejo grey primer and given a pre highlight in white. Then a coat of vallejo flat yellow was applied followed by a layer of golden yellow for richness.

Then the model was shaded with snakebite leather and highligted with vallejo flat yellow.

That's it, the weathering is chardon granite sponged on.
