So I'm finding more and more that I just have no interest anymore in actually playing 40K or even to buy any new models or codex or anything else for the tableop game. I still love the fluff of it but everything else just holds no interest anymore. I suppose part of it is the way GW is going recently and how they just want to push the newest army and really seem to promote band wagon jumping. Anybody else feeling this way or is it just me?

Probably just you. Take a break for awhile...im sure the 40k "itch" will hit you once again.

As above, take a break from 40k for a while. Try other miniature games, or take part in other hobbies such as reading, video gaming or whatever else you enjoy that is not 40k. Eventually the itch will come back, and your models will be there ready and waiting again.

If your still into the fluff & setting, you can always just shift to the books the video games, the ect.

I recommend playing only once a month, paint a more fluffy collection, and try getting 250 points of something you've never played and having fun with it.

Burn out seems to happen pretty often with weekly clubs... ours starting meeting every other week, and its really improved everyone's experience.

I actually haven't even touched my 40K stuff now in about a month or so. I have been playing warmachine and joined the journeyman league at my FLGS. So far I've been liking this a lot more then I ever did 40K.

Well, a change is as good as a rest they say. I think it's definitely worthwhile getting into more than one system. There are loads out there offering differing experiences, and there is no reason to treat it like you are supporting a football team and just stick with one to the exclusion of all else!

have you played planet strike? WAY more fun than regular rulebook setup. if you like the stories try setting up a game that involves a scenario in fluff you've read with a friend

this. Just came back from a year hiatus where I didn't really want to play... but now I'm back with a vengeance.

I may end up putting more of my stuff for sale then I do now. I know I want to hang on to at least one of my armies, but im not sure which one. Right now I still have space wolves, IG, and chaos space marines. 1 or 2 of them may make its way onto the swap shop but we'll see what happens. For now I'm pretty much just contenting myself to warmachine. I'll see what happens when 6th edition comes out and maybe the new edition will pull me back into 40K but if it goes the same way 5th has then that prolly won't happen.

I got bored of 40k in 2006, 6 months ago i was sitting at my computer and saw a demotivational 40k poster, i then proceeded to go to GW nostalgically, and then it was over, i was hooked again, time away helped, now i am playing 2 times a week and painting 1-2 models a week. overall, take a break and you will likely get sucked back in, even if you dont though, thats money that you arent giving to GW and time for other things.

I know a few people who don't play 40K anymore cos they've lost interest/feel screwed by GW but love the universe and fluff so only play the FF 40k RPGs.

It's not that uncommon.

Our group took a break at the end of 4th edition, came back to the game with more interest in it than before!

Also, take a look the RPGs that are set in the universe as well (i.e. Dark Hersey, Deathwatch, Rogue Trader, ect)

I lose interest from time to time, but eventually become motivated again. Just give it some time.

I got that. So I played Fantasy for a bit, and am now planing to go LARPing.

Just entertain yourself in any way shape or form.

You can always play drunk. Hey, here's a fun game! Every time a model dies, drink. Oh, and you should totally play Green Tide vs Gaunts.

I feel like accidents would happen if you were drunk. or rage-quitting. lol. Since I'm away for college I'm not hometo play 40k, although I'd really like to be. But when I am home for breaks I play as much as I can and I get real into it, so if it really is boring you and the trees aren't helpin jus take a break and focus on other things/hobbies and like everyone said the warp will suck you back in.

Do what I do. If you play space marines. Make two space marine chapters write history about how much they hate each other and full out war .
