You know I have discussed this and discussed this but i really don't know who has the largest fleet in the space marines that are loyalists.
Also question how many (fluff wise) Battle Barges can a chapter have?

Jokingly, I would say Blood ravens.

Seriously, the Black templars probably have a pretty hefty force. And as many as they can get their hands on, probably putting the blood ravens in the lead on how many barges there are in an army.

Tossup for me between Ultramarines and Black Templars...but I think its the Templars (as they are fleet based and ignore the rules about membership limits)

Eh, there are some fleet based chapters, but most of them follow Codex Astartes to some degree. BT just threw it out of the window and cried "ENDLESS CRUSADE, RARGH".

The LARGEST fleet in one chapters control is hands down the Black Templar. Most of the Fists succesors are or were fleet based. Even then that doesn't guarantee a large fleet the Crimson Fists were fleet based once and down to what two BBs? The Blood angels have what three? I'm not backing these up by checking that's IIRC. the DAs have the Rock and a fleet although it's most likely made up primarily of Cruisers. I'd say a chapter COULD have at least one BB for each Battle Company so in theory 5 at a maximum and none at a minimum.

Black Templars!

Stated by Grey Templar:The Ward of the Codices
"It began, with the writing of the Great Codices,
2 were given to the Eldar. Immortal, Capricious, and most farsighted of all,
2 also to Chaos. Traitorous, Deceitful, Servants of the Dark Gods,
3 to the Xenos races. T'au, Orks, and Necrons. the Young, the Beast, and the Spiteful,
7 to the race of men. Servents of the God Emperor, the Inheritors of the Galaxy.

But they were all of them, decieved. for another Codex was written…
In the Land of Ward'or, in the Fires of Mount Doom, the Dark Lord Matthew wrote in secret, a Master Codex, to rule all the others. One by one, all the armies of the other Codices fell to the power of the Codex, and from this Darkness, none could see hope.

But there were some, who resisted. a Last Alliance of Men and Xenos took up arms against the forces of Ward'or and on the Slopes of Mount Doom they fought for the freedom of 40k."

Black Templars are likely the biggest, though a lot of them are smaller ships suitable for splitting Crusades up all over the place.

Ultramarines have the most Battlebarges of any known Chapter (a ludicrous and unrealistic amount IMO).

The Imperial Fists have the most pwerful ship (Phalanx) and probably a very large and powerful fleet, being a fleet based, First Founding, Crusade chapter.

Charcharadons fleet is very large, and made up of old ships like Grand Cruisers etc, which are often better in "line of battle" fights than Astartes ships.

Minotaurs were always powerful in space, and after taking most of the Lamenters ships are definitely well up the scale.

Space Wolves have a large and fairly powerful fleet, though it is usually split up among the 12 great companies.

Thats probably the most powerful fleets I can think of offhand, but tbh most fleet based Chapters will be fairly powerful, if not quite on this level.

Also, the older chapters will tend to accrue a lot of tech, including ships. So in general, the more established they are, the more likely they will have a powerful fleet.

Other than what's been suggested here already, the Fire Hawks were noted in Imperial Armour IX for their impressive fleet, including the warp-capable fortress Raptorus Rex, supposedly the most powerful vessel fielded in the Badab conflict.

True, the Fire Hawks were a big fleet Chapter, and the Raptorus Rex was incredibly powerful (it was a fleet all by itself tbh).

Sadly, they no longer exist, as the entire Chapter Fleet was lost in the warp in 936.M41 (Legion of the Damned are a seperate subject).

I would definitely say the Black Templars.

Ultramarines only have 3 battle barges at current according to the codex, so that leaves them around the norm for codex chapters.

I'm actually kind of surprised the Blood Angels don't have a larger fleet, considering that their codex makes a point of the fact that they travel all over the Imperium instead of keeping to a specific area like most chapters.

Caesar was the one that got hammered in The Chapters Due, I believe. Completely totalled.

From what I could tell when reading it, Chapters Due was basically a direct sequel to Codex Space Marines, so I suppose it's pretty canon...ish.

Probably templars do win though by numbers. However, you never know what The Phalanx could pull off, didn't it pretty much stay in orbit throughout the whole Invasion of Terra?

Dark Angels probably don't really count, since by official numbers they're separated in to Chapters. Then again, internally, aside from the newbie chapters (who probably get new ships?), they're effectively still a legion.

So, I guess it depends on what your frame of reference is.

Space Wolves ... for some reason powerful enough to deal with the entire Segmentum Pacifica Navy.

That singular piece of fluff aside I suppose I'd lean towards the Black Templars, too. They are fairly large as a Chapter already, and their focus on Crusades would seem to make them rely heavily on spaceborne assets.
Just a more or less uneducated guess, though.
