I do my own back yard plastic injection molding, and this is going to be part of a sprue designed to fill that much needed super model regiment. Just wanted to share.

BTW- new chariot bases are in the store for a low price too.

Where is the design going for this model? Basic female warrior? I totally like the outfit. I don't know if liking bikini armour is a niche or if disliking bikini armour is a niche, but I for one like it.

Can you do one of these about 5' 4", caramel skin long brown hair and realistic squidy bits?

Sorry...

Anatomy looks good so far, but I would make that leg armour a lot less chunky.

I'm thinking Witch elves. Agreed leg armor should be streamlined. A little less 80s legwarmer would be good.

Hats off if you can do plastic injection molding in your back yard!

How do you do backyard plastic injection molding? I always thought that kinda stuff needed a big factory in China or something.

Mmm, looks like witch elves to me, and looking on-par with recent GW sculpts, kudos to you if you can pull this off well.
I also wonder about 'backyard injection moulding...'

backyard injection molding is of questionable quality, depending on the process. Basically it uses small homebuilt or cheaply available (realize cheap still means thousands of dollars) hand operated machines, etc. Usually only good for very small production runs (in the range of 100 or so runs) of very small parts (you probably wouldn't be able to do a squads worth of minis on one sprue).

Hello Ken of York,

1.) Welcome to Dakka!
2.) You may wish to add a link to your store to your signature here, so people can easily find your store.
3.) Possibly also to your development blog?

Your techniques are very interesting.

Apparently, it's doable at home with enough persistence and the right gear.

Here's a link to Ken's blog, well worth a read from the beginning, it covers all the tales of wrestling with machinery that keeps trying to injure him: http://proxiemodels.blogspot.com/

Nice work so far. If the rest of them pans out, I'll buy some.

Thanks guys. I got a very long to do list and female sci-fi and fantasy figs are high on the list. My blog details the issues of do it yourself plastic. Combined with learn as you go it has been interesting year. I have gotten a lot of support from the gaming community and it really keeps me enthused to go through the tedious learning curve. I really hope to be able to offer some affordable and odd things in the future.

20? I checked it out and it's 4 for $4, still a decent deal. I'd love to see bigger models though, the building looks nice but I don't play 15mm. Anyway, nice work OP, definitely impressed.

The base pic is of a single sprue, the packs contain multiple sprues and the numbers total are listed on the site. It is 20 cav bases per pack though.

BTW- what does AHW mean?

You know there is a website that can help you with that kind of realistic.. product.
but since Dakka is an all-ages community, I'm in no way going to post a link

D'oh! I suppose that's what PM's are for though haha.

Jokes aside, looking forward to see what else you have in the pipeline. yes, I refrained from saying that I'm looking forward to watching this model 'developing'
