Hey guys, nice forum. Been reading here a lot lately and I have a question for you. I'm sorry if this has been asked before but I have not found it.

The Warhammer rulebook states that the Juggernaut and Dragon Ogres are the same troop type. I was wondering if there are any rules I have not seen that is prohibiting me from having a Chaos Lord on Juggernaut in a unit of Dragon Ogres?

I'm just starting a WoC army and I really like the Juggernaut model ( http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catalog/productDetail.jsp?catId=cat440108a&prodId=prod1290097 ) but I figure including a model this point-heavy without a look out sir! roll probably wouldnt be a good idea... Besides a unit like this would be absolutely brutal in close combat.

What do you guys think? Is it legal?

The juggernaught is a monstrous beast, but when you put a character on it, it becomes monsters cav.
Dragon ogres stay monstrous beasts and as such, the lord would not get a loot out.

Best bet would be a ward save and a charmed shield.

Ah.. Figured something like that would show up. AFAIK there arent any units of monstrous cavalry available in a WoC army so I'm guessing the ward and the shield (or possibly the armor that protects you against multiple wounds) are the best bet.

I'm still not sure if it's worth it though, kinda risky for such a big point-drain..

The 2+ armour to discount the first hit is quite useful on units that dont get a LOS! roll - and cheap. With careful planning you shouldnt get too many cannons going through your guy....

That is true for most cases I imagine, but my regular opponents tend to either go all shooting/magic or all CC. In the case of all CC this is not an issue of course, but against all shooting one single hit ignored would not be enough as I generally face at least 4-5 war machines when I play melee heavy armies like WoC or VC.

Thanks for the advice and rule information guys

One of my best friends plays WoC and VC exclusively. When playing WoC, he's addicted to having his lord on some kind of fabulous mount, which usually leads to me either War Machine or mass-volley sniping it before it can do any real harm. I'd be more afraid of his HQ if it were stuck in a unit to distribute hits and grant LOS rolls.

Anyway, that's an opponent's take on the situation.

Thanks for your input. That is most likely what my opponents will do as well.

I'm considering putting my lord in a unit of chosen instead (with some Eye of the gods shenanigans) to make sure he lives long enough to wreak some havoc

Cool I was playing with this idea as well haha.

Another question if the lord gets killed while on jugger does the jugger stick around or die as well?
