Here, I don't think I've posted this one up yet. I painted this tank a little while ago. The fuel tank was painted up as a separate piece that magnetized onto the back of this one (and for some reason, I don't think I got pictures of it). Oh well, here's what I did get.

Wow. Love it!

I've long wondered what a good Praetorian tank colour scheme (in the same red-and-blue as the troops) would look like. You have nailed it! I particularly like the hazard stripes and flames- whilst not being overblown, they add a hint of 2nd edition old-school to the tank that will really bring out the best in the old metal guard models.

Theres not much weathering going on, apart from the odd paint chip... it's clean and tidy, but that's how the Praetorians like their tanks, Sah! Spiffing!

Very nicely done. I'm a big fan of the circa 1993 paint scheme. Very vibrant and eye catching. Cheers.

Great colorscheme. Not often you see IG that's not in some boring cammo color.

Yes. By the way, this was my client's choice (I've been doing units for this force for a long time now). For the first tank, we discussed whether it should be in parade colors or camouflage, and I think both of us thought this was cooler.

And if the marines can get away with painting their tanks in bright reds and blues, why not the IG?

Awesome tank, and aye I'd agree. For every regiment of the Guard that used modern practices of camo and displacement combat.

I'm quite confidant they'd be a regiment set on the older ideals of to serve and promote your nation/regiment over all else, wearing whatever colours your homeworld deemed appropriate.

Well, if you don't camouflage your tank, it really just means that you don't think anyone is going to be bombing you. Tanks can't really hide from people at ground level.

And from a game design perspective, I'm pretty convinced that no one is using modern practices at all. The whole thing seems like a combination of Napoleonic wars and World War I to me.

I mean, we have very large groups fighting one another in pitched battles, tanks are fairly slow and fairly short ranged, cover can help you live a little longer, but it isn't all that important. And when you have a squad fighting, they all act as one. There aren't individuals moving over to flank and such.

Some of that is just streamlining, but overall I think it ends up representing an older area of tactics. Which is fine, it isn't like people haven't lost many other kinds of sophistication in the forty first millennium.

Great job - good looking Pratorian Tank - no reason if the infantry doesn't wear parade colors that ou armor shouldn't too.

Yeah, why should we try to hide our vehicles when our infantry wear the easiest color to spot from a distance?
