How did you get into wargaming? Through a friend showing me some models and a White Dwarf
Where and how often do you usually play? Only very occasionally as I used to live in a small village, but now I'm in a city it will hopefully be more often!
What armies do yuo collect, for 40K or another system? I have approx. 2000pts of Word Bearers Chaos marines, and a few Tau and Eldar models floating around
What is your favourite and least favourite army to play against? Favourite has to be Imperial Guard, least favourite is Necrons (they just won't die!)
What is your best and worst 40K moment? Best was when Lysander jumped of of a land raider to squish some chaos marines, only to be squished in turn by a Defiler . Worst, my defiler never lasts more than 2 turns, which is annoying.
What are some of you other interests? Sailing and music

Welcome to Dakka, im friends with edinburgh40kgamer btw.
I wasnt going to post, but then thought I could tell you what I think about edinburgh gaming since I had the same thing about 3 or 4 weeks ago. By no means let my thoughts direct what you do though, you might just care to see what I did.
1) I went to the society. It was small, but friendly, but again small. I have not gone since so maybe more people are there now, but yeah I cant say I instantly loved it.
2) I got on dakka.
3) I perchanced on edinburgh40kgamers post about some gaming club called ELG and got chatting to him
4) Went along to ELG and had a blast. It was 10 times bigger, way more welcoming and alcohol is cheap! If thats your thing.
5) Still going to ELG and loving it. Got a great group of friends and won a few battles! (and lost some)
Like I said hopefully my experience of the uni society was just a bad day or something, but I am almost 100% sure ELG will meet your 40k fix!
Hope uni goes well, Im there too myself!
