With the new Necron codex 2 weeks out, I thought it might be cool to say goodbye to old 'crons with a "what was your favorite necron list" thread.

Personally, I was never happy that I had to choose between wraiths and destroyers because I liked them both so much, but I often compromised. Here's a 2500 point list I'm going to play in my next game to say goodbye to some units that will soon be obsolete. I know it's not very good, but I want to play the nightbringer one last time.

HQ
Necron lord, Destroyer body, res orb, phase shifter, Warscythe 210
The Nightbringer 360
11 warriors 198
11 warriors 198
10 warriors 180
5 Pariahs 180
5 Pariahs 180
3 Wraiths 123
3 Wraiths 123
3 Wraiths 123
3 Hvy Destroyers 195
3 Hvy Destroyers 195
1 Monolith 235

Last chance to play old necron, what are you going to play?

Where people Live Free, or Die

Going down to the flgs to play tomorrow (for the first time in a good long while) with the 1500 Necron list that I've played for near on 5 years. (Never was a super competitive list in many ways, but it's big on variety and short on and I've certainly won my fair share of games.)

Necron Lord – 200
Resurrection Orb
Veil of Darkness

Immortals - 196
7 Immortals

Warriors – 180
10 Warriors

Warriors – 180
10 Warriors

Warriors – 180
10 Warriors

Scarab Swarms – 80
5 Scarab Swarms
Disruption Fields

Wraiths – 82
2 Wraiths

Destroyers – 150
3 Destroyers

Heavy Destroyers – 195
3 Heavy Destroyers

Tomb Spider - 55

I, for one, am very excited for this update. My law school sized wallet, however, is not...
While I will miss the simplicity and sheer economy of playing old Necrons, I think the new units all look great and the new fluff is creative and much more workable. It will be very interesting to see how the new transport and vehicle heavy Necron army will play as a force.

Menaphite Dynasty Necrons - 6000
Karak Hirn Dwarfs - 2500

How many lawyers does it take to change a light bulb?
-- Fifty-Four -- Eight to argue, one to get a continuance, one to object, one to demur, two to research precedents, one to dictate a letter, one to stipulate, five to turn in their time cards, one to depose, one to write interrogatories, two to settle, one to order a secretary to change the bulb, and twenty eight to bill for professional services.

The original list posted needs to combine the pariah, there is that good old fashioned 0-1 limit on those soulless bastards.

If I had to do a 2500 allcomer list it would be

Lord (des. body, scythe, orb, 4+ invul.)
Deciever
11 warriors
11 warriors
10 immortals
5 pariah
6 scarabs w/ d. fields
4 destroyers
4 destroyers
2 x monoliths
3 x T spyders.

If I had to write a cron Ard Boyz list, this would be it.

You're right, my bad... often I swap out 5 pariahs for another 10 man warrior squad, so I keep them on a separate line in my list list, but deployed they're a single 10 man, didn't catch it this time.

Looks like y'all are gonna miss your monoliths; though the changes to monoliths don't seem SO bad.

I'm going to miss pariahs, destroyers, and both C'tan.

I've noticed that A lot of necron players only include 2 scoring units, i suppose because of the necron staying power, that you rely on contesting objectives in order to win; I know that warriors are expensive and terrible, but I never feel comfortable fielding only 2 squads at point costs in excess of 1500.

I suppose it will be a moot point in 2 weeks, but what have I been missing?
