Hi there everyone, got some time together to finish this Forge World piece. Absolutely awesome terrain piece in my opinion, so I hope I did it justice. But hey, pictures speak louder than words!

It's been painted to match the world in which my Death Korps find themselves fighting a Hive Fleet of Tyranids, I'm going to say they're an off-shoot of Kraken based on their scheme (I acquired this Carnifex from a friend who was giving away his unwanted models. Only thing I changed was the base so it would fit in with the rest of them). So yeah, constructive criticism and comments appreciated!

Looks pretty damn cool to me

Good use of snow - it piles well in pretty much all the right places.

I'm glad you picked up on it, cause I took a bit of time dropping snow onto it before I used glue to see where the natural areas it fell into were, then took a picture and basically did what I could to replicate it!

You must have done more than a few things right - you plunked a few gaming models onto a terrain piece to snap pics and it's way better than 90% of the purpose-built dioramas I see posted around the net. Great posing, great pics, great painting, great... man, I wish I could think of a "p" word for snow that was more specific than "precipitation."

Very good work. Speaking as someone who lives in a snowy climate you did an excellent job replicating it. Bravo.

OH MY GOD! Great, but the hull doesn't look burnt enough. Maybe the front part of the ship should be all black and grey, and a crater in the snow.

Yeah, I might add some more scorch marks on the vehicle. I deliberately didn't leave a scorched trail or anything behind it or a visible crater around it though because the idea is that it isn't a newly-crashed vehicle but rather one that's been downed for a while now so the snow has had a chance to cover over and scorched parts of the terrain

Thanks for the kind words everyone!

It may just be the kit, or me being overly fussy... but where have the wings gone? They appear to have been removed with surgical precision. Certainly not the jagged "torn off by a brutal impact" or "sheared off on a tree" look one would expect with such a crash.

but alas, I nit-pick...
The snow is spot on though. Trust me, I'm Canadian; I know a thing or two about snow.
