A few months ago I saw a Mega Paint Set for sale on the GW site. It was around $150 if I remember correctly. Before I was able to purchase it they sold out and it was taken off the website. Today I was excited to see they have brought it back. But now it is $300! Did they just double the price for the same set??

As I recall, it was £150 last time I saw it for sale.
It's £155 now.

A 5 pound increase (About 10 bucks) isn't to bad. And anyway, for everything you get, it's pretty fair.

There's already a thread for this in news. The release that is not navigating on the GW website wrong.

I may well be in the minority with my opinion, but I find the majority of GW paints to be well below standard!
I could literally list off the ones that I think are rubbish, but it would bore you and take to long. I think their washes are pretty good, if managed well, and some of their flourescent colours are good, but the others......
I would certainly recommend Vallejo over GW any day....I've been really impressed by their colours.
By the way, I'm not just spouting! I do own the GW Mega Paint Set, and a large selection of Vallejo, so I'm speaking from my own experiences!

Based on the link above the Vallejo paint set is only $10 cheaper than the GW alternative. I've never used anything but GW paint so I don't know how good anything else is, but I will be scrounging all of my change together to buy the Mega Paint set. I've never had one before and all the color variety would be nice.

The mega paint set is always a great deal, and always sells out. The case itself is cool, and could become a miniatures case if you wanted. The 73 paints come to 270.00, Plus 10 paint brushes, storage case, flocking, and glue. The cost is 245.00, making it either roughly 40% off the items you get, or a 25.00 savings on paints, and the rest of the stuff for free. I always order a ton of them for my store, and always go through all of them.

And then there's the 10 brushes and 4 cans of flock. Sweet jeebus thats a good deal. If only I wasn't so poor right now... Damn, ninja'd

Not that it needs it, but I can vouch for this. We had the damnedest time trying to get one a few years ago, discount or direct from GW a month or two after release.
I have used the case for troop transport as well.

This item is $413 in Australia, does anyone know if any of the overseas independants are stocking this? Ones that are still selling to Rest of the World? I would gladly pay the 155 Pound.
Id love to have one but $415 is a bit much to buy local.

It's actually fair for GW, buying all the paints/brushes/basing materials individually would cost far more then the given price.

I seem to recall the big paint set being one of the few things Maelstrom would not ship (the others being other GW cases and the RoB board), so it might be difficult to get it shipped internationally.
