I have an idea to make a Squat Techpriest for my IG army using Finecast Dwarf Master Engineer with hammer and servo-arms and Servitors from Finecast Techmarine:


What would you say about it?

It could work, hard to say. Personally I think you'd want to do more than stick the backpack on the dwarf model. Maybe model some bionic stuff on, and/or some armour?

I think the Dwarf looks fine on his own, the hammer's already got a cog on it and he's holding a pistol so it amkes it WYSIWYG. As long as you painted him in suitable Red's i think he'd look fine.

There was a very good squat Techpreist released in the 90s.

Should pop up often enough of eBay.

I used one of the White Dwarf subby minis, just swapped the backpack arm holding the gobbo for a tech priest version. Sorry for the crummy picture, but you get the idea

It is definitely possible (and fits Mantic SciFi dwarfs ).

I agree with you that the dwarf looks fine on his own and doesn't need any other augmetations except Techmarine's backpack (and Servitors, of course, but there is no need to convert them). His hammer and pistol are Squat weapons so they obviously have different design than Imperial ones. And he has better save because of his Squat toughness and/or little size.
But as for the colours, I didn't want to paint him red just because he isn't an AdMech Techpriest. He is a Squat Engineer who survived the Tyranid invasion and later joined the First Zecaris Regiment. So I plan to paint him green, black and brown like the rest of my IG.
