With warriors of chaos or chosen can I have both halberds/great weapons and shields ? My army builder is letting me equip them that way so I just wanted to make sure I was doing it right.. Thanks in advance!

Yes you can give them several things.
I highly suggest not giving warriors or chosen great weapons they have a high initiative and the gw will wreck that.

Halberds and shields rock tho.

Also warriors work well in ranks of 6 wide.

Note however that both GW and Halberds are a) Special weapons and b)two handed

a) means you MUST use them in close combat, and b) means you CANNOT use a shield with them. So in close combat you will have +1S, but "only" a 4+ armour save

However when walking across the battlefield you DO get to use the shield.

yeah, i wouldn't reccomend great weapons because you waste your I5. halberds rock though, with or without shields.


I run a Tzeentch list with Sword+shield warriors and Halberd+shield chosen(who needs 3+ armor in CC when you have 3+ ward? and you could have both)

I did really with with great weapon warriors.
The extra strength of the great weapon paid off on several match ups.
I ran 1 block of 18 with great weapons, 1 with halberds, and 1 with hand weapon and shield.
I had enough junk deployments (hounds) so that I could line up my warriors on what worked best (great weapons lined up on cav or monsters).

I think great weapons pay off, and often too. Just not as often and nearly as universally as halberds.
