Subject: If you thought just being a remake was bad enough...
The Scorpion King 3 will be released in the following months, which makes it a sequel of a prequel of a spinoff of a sequel of a remake. That has to be some kind of record. If a character from that series gets their own movie, I believe that opens a black hole at the center of the planet.

They'll make a video game for it, the video game will get an iOS prequel game, and then they'll make a prequel for that.

Then there are those who drag themselves further. I find that admirable.

Isn't scorpion king the one where The Rock banged this lady in a pseudo-egypt desert setting or something?

Eh, sometimes a mess of cliches can work and be fun, even if it's really bad.
I mean that's why the Judge Dredd movies are enjoyable.

I never even realised there was a Scorpion King 2. I don't think this'll be one to watch.

I hope Olivia Thirlby looks less like a girly girl than she did in "New York, I Love You", because Anderson was an utter badass, not a wimp. I mean, she survived holding Judge Death in her head for a long, LONG time, held in a BOING ball (I believe) with him in her head. She's probably second only to Dredd himself in badassery in the series.

Sorry, friend. Ten times zero is still zero.
Still more than the amount of acting talent Steven Seagal had.

Yeah number 2 was a really cheap lousy movie,I only made it through 5 minutes of it.
I think a 3rd would be stupid,I mean the first was ok and that was only because we went to see the Mummy 2,and thought I wonder what The Rock would be like in a full movie.
Nobody really cared about the series enough to make 3 movies, and the major issue is that when people see 3 on the cinema listing, they will just say,"There was a 2nd?".

Agreed there for sure, but cmon lets be honest, Dwayne Johnson has come a long way since his first acting spot. Im not saying hes a fantastic actor, but he is good enough to know that hes got the action guy down. And having a nitch is better then most actors these days

I have a feeling SK3 will be DTV just like SK2.

I actually think the character would be better served by a sort of "Now the heels come off." image; ie. girly, until gak hits the fan.

Among the list of people who regularly play roles in which they slaughter loads of extras for often vague reasons, I think Dwayne Johnson is a hell of a lot better than most. He's pretty charismatic, and pretty damn funny. His cameo in Be Cool was far and away the funniest thing in that movie, and Welcome to the Jungle was way more fun than it had any right to be.
That said, like everyone else my first thought was 'there was second Scorpion King?' A quick look on IMDB shows me that The Rock, nor his elbow, were in either The Scorpion King 2 or The Scorpion King 3.
I guess Mr Johnson much prefers making really crappy family comedies these days.

Was The Mummy a remake?

“We may observe that the government in a civilized country is much more expensive than in a barbarous one; and when we say that one government is more expensive than another, it is the same as if we said that that one country is farther advanced in improvement than another. To say that the government is expensive and the people not oppressed is to say that the people are rich.”
