I made this topic to ask you guys what you think of the new statlines? i know my friend who collected necrons is reeeeaaaally peeved at the new rules for existing models.
The things i am quite annoyed about were:
Necron warriors, their saves are now 4+
Universal We'll be back, is now a 5+
The supposed 'close combat monsters' still only have initiative 2. Wow.
On another note, what are your views on the new model sculpts? I honestly prefer the old flayed ones to the new ones. Once someone told me that one of them is giving a flayed torso a piggy-back ride i cannot unsee it.
The Lychguard also seem to be wearing crowns from burger king, another thing i cannot unsee
So what are your views?

Necron warriors are now much cheaper, so the 4+ doesn't matter as much.
You can now always take the WBB.
And the CC troops are extremely tough, so I2 doesn't really matter.
New flayed ones are fugly, Crowns on Lychguard are rediculous...but they can be trimmed away or headswapped.

I hope the warriors will be cheaper points-wise and if they are then they will still be good. I foresee 3-4 warrior units sitting in transports as a decent/cheap(hopefully) troop choice for objective taking. Then probably pimp up the list a bit with a couple of Immortal units.
Yeah the warriors aren't as good as they once were but I just hope their points cost reflects that and at least we can now hide them in transports should we desire to do so as many other armies can/do.
I2 on the more elite units is very annoying but I hope they are sturdy enough to be worth taking...I'm not sure atm that they will be.

Through some insane breed of sorcery the new Flayed Ones seem to be even more useless.
4 attacks on the charge is nice, but not at initiative 2.
Overall, am pretty underwhelmed by most of the statlines, honestly. Not a single unit short of the C'tan Shards (FFFFFFFF) has more than WS/BS 4, or higher than I2 that I can recall. Some of the units have fairly high S and T to compensate, but eh, am still mostly underwhelmed.
Special abilities may make up for it though, which I have not seen.

Just look at how much nerfing the C'tan went through. MEQ are rejoicing. Formally untouchable, the now quail before Tactical. Whereas Sternguard used to be the best at killing them, with Hellfire, regualr bothers can wound on a 6!

WOOHOOHOO! Yes.
Disregard all I have said. Next Saturday, I am going to take my 2000pts of GK I currently need a box of Pallies to use, and challenge the nearest Necron player, and repeat! I have always wanted to take on both C'tan, but now I can fight both, and one of them twice! Not that anyone I know has both C'tan, they tend to stick with one, but NOW there is a reason to have both!

Statistically, you'll damage or affect a Dread as often as you'll wound a T8 Creature. And like every problem people perceive to exist in the rules, you don't have to agree.

On the website, in the redone summary of the monolith, it said to be wary of melta weapons. Do monoliths no longer laugh and swat aside my sundry AT weapons? It says that they have the Living Metal rule still, but does melta roll 2D6?

I didn't check the stat lines but the models are a real eye sore.
The Flayed Ones look so bad,I like the old ones,just hunched clawed Necrons with cloaks of skin,the new ones don't even have uniform claws or a uniform look at all,Nercons are meant to be a single visage of death.
The Guard guys are ok, I like the look of them a little just they seem to have replaced the Pariah,and I like the simple look of the Pariah better.
I like the new transport and command barge they look very fitting with the Necron imagery.

Except that wraithlords only have 3 wounds not 4, S5 can wound a wraithlord whilst it cant touch armour 12. More xenos should be T8. It is a nice alternative to imperial armour.
