Yeah, kill them. really, they're not that tough. Also, cover is your friend and those weapons are pretty useless against mech.

Finally, this has nothing to do with rules questions, might I suggest you ask a mod to move it to the proper forum?

10 Termagants with Devourers = 100pts.
10 IG with AC, Flamer =65pts.

You can get 30 guys equipped as above for cheaper than they can get 20 guys equipped as above.

If you let them shoot you outside of cover, you die. If you flame them and charge them, they die.

Use cover, and use your other (supporting) units. Termagants also don't like getting hit with heavy flamers which area free upgrade for your Chimeras. Chimeras which, incidentally, the Termagants can't hurt.

Do what IG do best and throw a tank or ten at them.

Mandorallen turned back toward the insolently sneering baron. 'My Lord,' The great knight said distantly, 'I find thy face apelike and thy form misshapen. Thy beard, moreover, is an offence against decency, resembling more closely the scabrous fur which doth decorate the hinder portion of a mongrel dog than a proper adornment for a human face. Is it possibly that thy mother, seized by some wild lechery, did dally at some time past with a randy goat?' - Mimbrate Knight Protector Mandorallen.

If it's just 1, one hellhound will wreck them easy. How are you having that much difficulty with just them? Take a master of ordinance or something, or flamers. There is of course the option of going to ground in cover.

Shoot first. Any guard on foot will be at least 20 strong - so FRFSRF and drop them with about double the fire power. Anything left won't do enough damage to survive.

I use devourer gants and have to say their perceived threat is much higher than their actual effectiveness. BS3 and AP- means that only a small fraction of the shots you take will get to hurt anything.

Unless in range of a tervigon their CC skills also leave much to be desired.

Is this a joke post? Is rolling a bunch of dice now overpowered? It can't be that devil gants are actually killing that many models - half hit, half wound, a third are saved (against IG anyway)

He has machine guns (full of worms), you have artillery by the fething ton. I'd say Guard has more of the OP issue than bugs...

He's basically bringing a BB gun to a tank war. Guard have access to stoopid amounts of cheap vehicles. Hide in them. , hide behind them, shoot him with them from the other side of the battlefield...

Seriously? 10 points for T3, 1 wound, 6+ save? For the same price you could put double that number of Termagants. And all for 6" extra range, and 2 extra shots, which lack any AP? I am going to be stuicking with good ole' Fleshborors.

Possibly, but the way he worded it made it soud like he was beiing serious normally people do somthing like inverted commas to show they are being sarcastic. Its hard to tell sarcasm if you can't hear how they are saying it.

He was being facetious, which is slightly different than sarcasm, and independent of tone. You determine how serious someone is by the subject matter and current discussion. If most everyone is suggesting that an original position is ridiculous, and someone makes an equally ridiculous statement, then the first thought should be to not take them seriously.

Spend more times on the forums, less time outside.

Yes. I was being facetious, as others have already explained for me.

I'd originally written that post complaining about how OP lasguns are, but I was worried people might take it seriously as lasguns can do some damage in large numbers. So I swapped it to mandrakes, to ramp up the ridiculosity in hopes the joke wouldn't go over anyone's head.

Oops.

FRFSRF can be far more OP than Fleshborers, and costs a fraction of the cost.
