Hello, hello!

I am a man somewhat new to the wargaming world but have always been a fan of scale models and the background fluff of Warhammer in general
but any-who you're here to see models not hear my life story on with it!

I chose to make a Warband dedicated to the god Nurgle as he has always been my favorite of the big four

What started out with just this:

Had soon blossomed into this:

and I find it extremely appropriate that there are 70 chaos Warriors in the group

So it's been a year since I've done anything with this but I've been very busy in that timeframe

WARNING LOTS OF PICS

The Whole army so far:

Lord on Palanquin:

Units of Warriors:

Nurgle Giant:

The Candle of Nurgle (Hellcannon/Warshrine):

So as it stands I have a lot of painting left to do including 2 units of Marauders some Warriors and a Chosen squad stay tuned for updates and critiques are always welcome!

I love the design of your Nurgle cannon. Really cool horde.

Thanks I quite like my candle

New color scheme test:

I've come to the conclusion that I named my WoC: The Tarnished Host yet they don't look very tarnished do they? So I've come up with a new color scheme and I'd like some input on it
(Just to note I've only painted the armor pieces seeing as how everything else will be the same)

and compared to my current colors

.....so thoughts?

I must admit I definitely like the green more. The new scheme just seems so... out of place.

I also don't think you need that oxidation to be so apparent. Tarnished holds dual meanings as is.

From Dictionary.com:
1. to dull the luster of (a metallic surface), especially by oxidation; discolor.
2. to diminish or destroy the purity of; stain; sully:

Go with that second meaning and you're good to go.

I tend to be extremely fluffy with my armies, and I find that it's much more interesting to give them loose names.
For instance, my Nurgle WoC army is the Breath of Horrid Repose which loosely translates to this "wind of deathly change."

So I guess all I'm saying is I like the greens much more than the new scheme and I feel it actually adds some depth to your fluff!

@Butterthepug: True but I always wanted to try and shy away from the overabundance of green usually seen in Nurgle models as you can sort of tell with my original warriors which were a rusty brown kinda color the green colors just kinda happened as I needed a simple color scheme to get a lot of guys painted quickly

and I think one of the problems with the test model was that it wasn't finished

I feel that adding color to the pelt and cape has made it a little less 'meh'

Those new pictures definitely give that scheme a better appearance. Not sure what it was about the last one but it didn't seem even remotely Nurgle-ish to me, whereas this finished version does.

And I completely understand not wanting to go all out green. If you check out my Nurgle warriors, I tried not to go straight green either, but rather a pale green with the contrasting cloaks.
(Shameful plug, I know: http://www.dakkadakka.com/dakkaforum/posts/list/60/394810.page )

Love the way your stuff is coming and I cant wait to see more!

I think it was just the lack of color on the model seeing as how it only had the armor pieces painted also saw some Chosen you had painted in a white scheme which I think look really nice on them

Been awhile since I've posted anything so here's some based and painted warriors!

As you can see I opted to go with the 'tarnished' look but due to the mixed feedback I've gotten from many places I've decided to only paint about half my army like this and the other half like that guy on the far right of my comparison picture with all the nurgle growths
