Looks like we'll soon be able to play as Chaos in Space Marine and gun down those loyal servants of the Emperor with the exterminatus mode update. There's also a CTF game variant and a few new maps.

For those who downloaded the xbox update the day before the actual exterminatus DLC came out, you saw 5 slots for DLC. With this announced and the initial exterminatus files, we have two known already. Hopefully one will be a campaign update that follows what happens to Captain Titus during his stay with the Inquisition but I'm not holding my breath for that.

I'm guessing you'll be fighting them as I doubt even lowly guardsmen could be just sleeping in front of that heavy bolter while firing.

Other announced DLC includes the pre-order exclusive skins from certain Chapters, going for 240 points a piece. First up are Legion of the Damned, Blood Angels and Salamanders.

Those three weren't preorder skins as far as I remember?

I wouldn't. I got it on Steam when they had it with the DoW bundle and I've regretted getting it there rather than for the 360 like I had planned to.

There's generic skins available, but the preorder skins were more like the Ultramarines Champion/Chosen of Nemeroth armor sets.

They weren't just recolors but had things like wolf pelts hanging off them, tabards, etc

Pretty much. The preorder ones were basically the equivalent to fancy new chapter specific plastic kits with lots of details compared with using AOBR ones with decals in the customizer. I'm assuming that the ones you purchase will have the same chapter specific dohickies like the preorder ones. See the difference below between the customizer standard space wolf and the preorder variant.

That's obvious. I was simply posting a pic of what the current crop of special skins look like compared to the standard builds in the customizer (as that is what Kan was mentioning) and an indicator of the level of detail we're likely to get with future ones. Other than legion of the damned, we haven't seen any of the special skins from the new batch yet.

Sadly, online online co op. If you've got two xboxes, you can probably play via the system link but I'm only guessing at that. There is definitely no split screen co op for consoles at the moment... I'm not sure about the PC version though.

so what is $10 going to get you? The ability to play as chaos and that it? Cause maps being specific to paid DLC has never worked in any other game so either those maps are unique to the chaos exterminatus or something else? And the ctf mode is free according to the article.

No way in gods green earth I'd pay $10 for a skin swap given how poor the chaos marines look.

So I can't help but notice that no one is talking about the Alpha Legion skin...


Tac Marine on the far left. That is an entirely new skin, as you can tell the left kneepad has a scaled texture on it, the helm has what appears to be a 'fanged maw' surrounding the face, and the right shoulderpad has the Hydra raised up out of it.

No Thousand Sons skin with sweet head dress helmet thingy? I am a sad panda.

Is this out for the 360 I got the free download for exterminatus but not this?
