Dont's suppose anyone has come across anywhere to buy just the cloaked marines (or conversion kits of that nature) I see that certain elite squads have purely cloaked astartes and that DA and Black templar conversion kits include two or three, but my goal was to have all my marines in some form of cloak.

I've seen a tute to do it yourself on Bolter and Chainsword, but is that the only viable option?

GW were selling the DA robed sprues separately.

I'm OVER 50 (and so far over everyone's BS, too).
Old enough to know better, young enough to not give a ****.

Dark Angels

Black Templars

Work just fine with regular marine parts.

I've seen the upgrade sprues sold in a few FLGSs too, so I wouldn't be too surprised if some GWs had them. Haven't ever actually been into a GW myself though so I can't really confirm that.

The official robed figures as above are good, but there are only a few poses, so a whole army would look rather samey - there's only so much you can do to disguise the repeated bits. I haven't seen any third party manufacturers doing robed marines.

Could be a good time to learn greenstuff sculpting?

Oooh, now that you mention it Clang, MicroArt Studios does a couple of sets of robed legs. Granted, it's not nearly the whole marine, but it's a start.

Brilliant, thanks everyone especially Zefig.
I had seen the conversion kits, but my aim was to have them all robed to various degrees, as befits the backstory I was hoping to create for my chapter.
I think ultimatley I will probably bite the bullet and GS them, there seem to be a lot of great tutes around and its a handy skill to learn in such a hobby, but for the initial tac squads, something like those legs and the conversion kits will be the best way forward... for now

Anvil Industries sell cloaks on their own that are designed to fit with marines in both furry & non furry varieties.

I've got a set of his for the honour guard I'm currently building & they are pretty good.

Those MicroArt Studios robed legs would be a very good option - adding greenstuffed robed torsoes on top would be relatively easy, compared to the robed legs which I think would be a much harder sculpting project.

Very true, but then the experienced could be easily used to build up the skills needed to make more robes later on. Win-win!

Just go on ebay and search for dark angel robbed body, you can get plenty of them for a decent price.

I meant the cloaks are furry and non-furry. But when you consider space wolves, I don't see where furry marines is hard to imagine.

After your post, I was looking at their various robed legs for my DA and BT forces, and they seem pretty decent. What I was less impressed with though was their shipping prices, which seem quite high if you just want to get a couple of things, though decent if you're getting a ton of stuff.

Does anyone know who else carries their product lines?

Scipio, I'm not familiar with any OZ retailers, but I know the Warstore carries them, and I think they tend to be on the more reasonable side of international shipping prices.

Best,

The DA upgrade sprue is £10.25 has 3 robed legs and 5 robed fronts. The Da Veterans box is £15.50 has 5 legs and bodies. The BT upgrade sprue is £18.50 for 3 body fronts with tabards.
DAs have limited poses but they seem the obvious choice. There are also the older SM veterans models that have some robes.
