Hah! Great article.

Architect Tom Logan said: “I don't consider myself a fantasy fan, preferring more literary novels about ageing academics taking stock of their lives. However, unlike Alan Hollinghurst's books, A Game of Thrones has lots of beheadings, ghost knights and wolves the sizes of ponies.

At Games Workshop, we believe that how you behave does matter. We believe this so strongly that we have written it down in the Games Workshop Book. There is a section in the book where we talk about the values we expect all staff to demonstrate in their working lives. These values are Lawyers, Guns and Money.

As far to the east you can get without being in Canada.

It sounds to me that the nice woman quoted in the article should embrace her husbands new found interest. Perhaps with a wench outfit? That sounds like some good fantasy fun right there.

Some hobbies are as bad as drugs...

Any obession can lead to you neglecting your family, your health suffering and wasting all your money.

I know divorces which have happened over world of warcraft.

Warhammer can be harmful to healthy lives if the person is neglecting his responsibilities in the name of the hobby. Spending thousands of dollars you don't have on an addiction... and some hobbies become addictions.

Holy crud....this story scares me...and I mean really scares me, not like a horror movie scare. I also feel extremely sad about that guy....to kill his own wife over a collection of toys, that has got to be the worse thing imaginable. Assuming you care about your wife, which I'm assuming this guy doesn't.

I will forever remain humble because I know I could have less.
I will always be grateful because I remember I've had less.

He killed his wife over her destroying his lifelong treasure and threatening to leave him, which was an immense betrayal which no doubt assaulted his own feelings of inadequacy.

That doesn't excuse what happened, but to call it just a "collection of toys" is to trivialise the psychology background of the case.

She's dead. He's in prison. Their child will probably end up in case.

Bad ending for everyone. Very sad.

Also, the headline is a bit misleading. Reading the article, it more implies he killed her for threatening to leave him. The smashed toy collection isn't mentioned anywhere but the headline and the caption under her picture.

"He claimed he was a henpecked husband who flipped after Srisroy threatened to leave the marital home in Greater Manchester and go back to Thailand."

That's a good #1 rule for the wargaming populace:

No Thai brides, no matter how lonely and desperate you get.

When temptation arises, cook up the most epic burger you can think of, grab a six pack, put on some stargate dvds and revel in the nerdery.
