Too much of these threads just loose the point and become redundant troll playgrounds sparking flame wars. And if my time playing DND has taught me anything, it's that trolls hate fire.

So try to to take this too serious and. How abouts we avoid any more trolling or simaler since this thread has enough of it. (although it's not intentional)

Edit: I only post this because I would like to come to the general discussion and see something new! And not just the same recycled pointless stuff that keeps showing up. I like a bit of challenge to by conversation. Perhaps a new subsection dedicated to humor could help?

Whilst I'm quite new to Dakka Dakka, I've come across similar threads on other sites/forums same as those listed in the poll. Under the Matt Ward 'love/hate' one I'd add in 'Draigo' discussions as well.

Why don't we just not look at threads we don't like as a forum wide initiative?

It depends; if it's just "SHOULD I GET SPACE MARINES OR SPACE MARINES HALP" it's no good. If they have some kind of reasoning for what they'd like, what they don't like, and what they already have, it can make for a decent topic.

Just trying to point out these topics get posted, debated, degenerate into flame wars then forgotten or locked only to be recycled back again only weeks and sometimes days later. I'm wondering how many times these need to be discussed and do they REALLY help further the culture of the game? I'm all in favor of a humor section but I don't think it belongs in general discussion and especially not the same recycled story/anecdote etc.

For the sake of the thread and the readers can we not get into such silliness? Not saying anybody is either.

I would add the following:
"Your favorite fantasy on how the tau race gets extinguished" threads, followed by:
"Are the tau really hindu-commie-hippie-nazi-manga cow-fishes led by a pope, loving peace and genocides?" and
"Is a Chaos Grey Knights/Sororitas/Ork/Tyranid/Eldar/Tau army fluffy?"

Hands down beat this unit. Of all the options, it's by far the most worthless. Everything else falls in line with people giving their opinions (on a forum, you know, where you generally do these things). However, every time I jump on a forum and see a beat this unit thread my rage begins to bubble and simmer.

Seriously. Most worthless threads ever.

I would rank Primarch Mat Ward's Codex : Wardmarines as being too OP as it takes units from fantasy and also has Klingons from Star Trek. Now I have this sinking feeling that if I play them at my group because they are OP and I hate Mat Ward, that no one will play me so I need help choosing a new army!

Hmm this thread seems kinda harsh, all these topics are pretty broad...

For example: Mart Ward hate/love? threads get anoying, but when the new Necron codex comes out, I'm going to want to hear what people say about what Matt Ward wrote about them, but i Wont want to hear it for 6 months.

We should really ban specific things like: no more threads complaining about Draigo lore...
