Hey all,

Here is my updated first attempt at piecing together a 2000pt Necron list any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

HQ- Overlord/ Phaeron, Warscythe, Res Orb, Mindshackle Scarabs 165pts

Court- Cryptek/ H of Despair- Abyssal Staff, Veil of Darkness 60pts
Cryptek/ H of Transmogrification- Tremorstave, Harp of Dissonance 55pts
Cryptek/ H of Destruction- Eldritch Lance, Solar Pulse 55pts
Cryptek/ H of Destruction- Eldritch Lance 35pts
Cryptek/ H of Destruction- Eldritch Lance 35pts

Troop- 10x Immortals 170pts

Troop- 10x Immortals 170pts

Troop- 9x Immortals 153pts

Troop- 10x Warriors 130pts

Troop- 9x Warriors 117pts

Fast Attack- 10x Canoptek Scarabs 150pts

Fast Attack- 10x Canoptek Scarabs 150pts

Fast Attack- 5x Tomb Blades- Particle Beamers, Shield Vanes 200pts

Heavy Support- Canoptek Spider- Gloom Prism 65pts
Canoptek Spider- Fabricator Claw 60pts
Canoptek Spider 50pts

Heavy Support- Annihilation Barge 90pts

Heavy Support- Annihilation Barge 90pts

Total 2000pts

The idea is to keep the Phaeron Overlord in a unit of Immortals with the Cryptek holding the Veil of Darkness. The other Crypteks are split up into the other units while the Tomb Blades play a flanking role. The spiders are in one unit to utilize their ability for wound allocation while cranking out three new Scarab bases a turn. They will stay close enough to the existing Scarabs to act as a counter charge if need be. So now, instead of the Triarch Stalker I've added two Annihilation Barges, after cutting the Stalker, one Warrior and one Immortal this gave me the extra points needed to fill out the Heavy Support choices in my list.

I really don't see the use of the Stalker here to be at all honest... you really don't wanna throw THAT much shooting at a rhino, do you? While I see it as good against infantry, this list really shouldn't struggle in that regard!

I'd recommend dropping the stalker and cut a little bit elseware and get 2 annihilation barges. Otherwise, looks nifty!

Immortals are expensive for only getting a better str gun. With 6's glancing your lower str weapons is just as dangerous.

For one point more than a tac marine, you get S5 AP4 (or tesla), and RP. Immortals appear to be steeply discounted.

OP, I'd either consolidate the Warriors into one group (20 warriors is damn near impossible to peel off an objective unless it gets bumrushed by a CC unit) or take a fourth unit of Immortals.

While I like the idea of the Phaeron leading some immortals, is he really worth the points for that purpose? He's not doing anything in this list aside from giving one unit of Immortals relentless. I'd make a CCB warscythe lord instead.

I like the idea of using Tomb Blades. I think PB blades will prove to be one of the underrated units in the codex. I recommend against the shield vanes in favor of the gear that grants stealth, or nothing at all. T5 with RP should do a decent job at keeping them alive, and their decent range allows you to start off with them in cover and blast away. The shadowloom also lets them get a 2+ cover save when turboboosting, making them a great distraction.

I'm personally not sold on the annihilation barges. If you're using that many immortals, tesla + a Stalker means a lot of firepower (40 TL tesla shots = 53 hits!)

You could go...
3 units of 10 warriors
2 units of 10 immortals and save 10 points.

Now here is the issue I have with Immortals.
Old Version
Assault 2 and Toughness 5

New Version
Rapid Fire and Toughness 4

10 Warriors 130 points vs 10 Immortals 170 points. So now you have to wounder if 40 more points is worth +1 Str/AP on a weapon. Vs Toughness 4/5 armies it's nice to have but you are still not busting the AP. Vs Toughness 3 armies there armor saves are usually 4/5/6's. So there is an argument that Str 4 AP 5 is just as good in a tourney because you don't know what you are fighting.

So to be honest warriors have the same weapon with a leadership of 10. They better than a Space Marine and cheaper. So this makes them a bargain.

Not that warriors aren't a bargain, but:

So now you have to wounder if 40 more points is worth +1 Str/AP on a weapon.

Yep, at 4pts a model, coupled with a better save, this is almost universally true. Don't let the fact that they used to be Assault 2 T5 color your opinion of the new ones. They also used to be 28 points a pop.

You can't have more than one cryptec take a wargear choice from the same school either.

Say you have 3 harbringers of destruction. You can have 3 with solar pulse but not 3 with lances, just one.

If you had two lords you could have 2 max in an army.

They also walked 6 inches and fired 24 inches. This made them great. I can't tell you how many times I walked backwards and made people pay for trying to assault them. Now they are just slightly better.

The major draw back is that Ghost Arks do not heal them. If they did then that would change everything.

I'm not saying 1 or 2 squads is bad but taking 5 units of them equals 200 points for +1 STR/AP bump up. Expensive if you ask me.

Actually the Lance is what you get when you make a Cryptek a Harbinger of Destruction, not the Solar Pulse. So you can have anywhere from 1-5 Crypteks from the same school, and since in order to upgrade from a generic Cryptek to one of the schools you have to upgrade the staff, you can have anywhere from 1-5 Lances when taking Crypteks with the H. of Destruction, but only one Solar Pulse per Royal Court.
