My old FLGS went out of buisness and the glue they had was spectacular. Sadly now I am stuck with the choice of GW thin/thick glue or buying it elsewhere. I am in the middle of necron assembly and really need to get some today to keep up the steam of working on my crons. What glue do ya'll use? If I use GW glue which one is better for what? Going to go grab glue at lunch (new FLGS is open at lunch).

I use Krazy super glue ( http://www.krazyglue.com/products/product.aspx?pc=KG585&g=2). Never had a problem with it and I started off using GW thick glue and just wasn't a fan. What was the glue that you used before?

Go have a gander at the local hardware store (or crafts store) for Gorilla super glue. Make sure its SUPER glue, and not regular old Gorilla glue. There is a major difference.

I was using,

and this for accelerator when I needed a really fast hold (hanging bits that were annoying to keep held on)

Yeah if you get GW glue you will need to hold it in place forever *learned from experience
As suggested above Gorilla super glue works well too.

I always find the gw super glue fine personally. Good pot, nice applicator brush and doesn't go all thick and gooey in the pot after a few months like some other brands ive tried

The GW super glue over here doesn't come with an applicator brush.

I would honestly be shocked if Home Depot doesn't have that if not any other craft/hardware store should have it.

I really enjoy the Filla-Glu, as it gives a spectacular bond. Only drawbacks are the missing applicator of any kind and the "grainy" residue it leaves when drying. But that's a general Problem of CA glue.

I've had two GW super glues dry up on me and turn to a thick gloup. Anyone know of a cheaper thin super glue i can get this side of the pond. Not paying £4.50 on GW glue again. Very disapointed.

Army painter army size super glue does the job nicely and you can get at Maelstrom or any store that offer a discounted price which makes it a bargain.

All I can get close by is the generic "Bob Smith Industries" CA glue series. Not the worst stuff I've used by any means. It works pretty good.

I personally use GW's superglue on everything. The plastic glue really annoyed me when it somewhat dried up.
I pass GW almost daily so it really only coz its convenient for me to go in and buy it.

I love that stuff cause i can use accelerator with it. Sadly I ended up picking up some loctite and if i even think about using accelerator i have to start punching the hardened stuff up in the bottle. So no more accelerator for me.

BSI is commonly sold at R/C shops. You can also get it from Tower Hobbies online.
Zap a gap and zap accelerators are sold at michaels and hobby lobby.

For superglue, I suggest loctite. Really great stuff.
For plastic glue, I suggest Tamiya Plastic Cement.
infinitely superior to GW stuff.

I've had okay results with Gale Force 9 stuff. I'm not to big of a fan of the GW stuff. Was using it but it comes in such a small amount and the brush still doesn't make it worth it. Right now I'm using some Loctite stuff. I have some Testors waiting in the wings though to be given a try.

Oh my god.... The number of times I glued my hands to my model plane when I was using Instant-cure.... It really does cure instantly....
Anyway: My Medium CA Zap-A-Gap got funky after a little while, so I also went with Loctite, except I chose to use Loctite Super-Glue Control Gel. Bit better, because it's a tad less brittle (means a lot, especially for transportation). Works wonders, doesn't take long to set, I like it a lot. Probably will never change again.

Only problem I had with lucite is that it comes out a lot or not at all. Try to go easy on the glue but it gets everywhere.

That reminds me: make sure to get the little bottle with a control grip
Those blue things on the sides are for you to hold onto, and squeezing them is how you get the glue out. Makes controlling the amount of glue applied a breeze.

Loctite is probably the best glue I've used as well. It's dirt cheap and any Wal-Mart should have it. Just make sure not to apply too much pressure to get it out and you'll end up wasting quite a bit and getting it everywhere. It does metal to metal fantastically as well as metal to plastic. It also dries pretty quickly so fidly bits shouldn't be too much of an issue. You might want to try the Ultra Gel that comes in a black bottle though, as its quite a bit thicker allowing for greater control.

For a quick fix, go to hobbytown USA, they have that exact same glue. its just in their own brand name. I do a lot of shopping there, they have a lot of neat stuff, AND they sell GW items as well. If there is is one in your area.
