I was just curious, which is the nearest or closest 5th edition codex I could use for a Night Lords army?

CSM I guess.

If you want I guess you could use blood angels, but then they'll be Night Lords by appearance only.

Blood Angels. Period.

The CSM codex is a complete turd at representing Night Lords. Raptors are horrible, the whole book hinges it's usefulness on Obliterators, Daemon Princes and Daemons, things that Night Lords don't use.

I run my Night Lords using the Blood Angels book, and it feels night lordsy, instead of a gimpy CSM farce.

What about calling them a SM force led by shrike? They're faster (fleet + infiltrate) and the idea is hit & run. Also, I imagine that a Nightlords lord with a jump pack and twin lightning claws wouldn't seem out of place.
